The Moment I Stepped Into His World as the Fake Girlfriend, I Became the Real Prize novel Chapter 3

Without a second to think, Elena tightly wrapped her arms around Sterling's neck.

Ignoring his intense resistance, she leaned forward and pressed her chest completely against his. As if he were her safe harbor and she a fragile vine seeking shelter, she buried herself firmly into his embrace.-

"Elena, what the hell are you doing? Do you have a death wish?"

Suffocated by her sudden clinginess and acutely aware of Xavier right outside, Sterling could only grit his teeth and whisper a harsh reprimand.

But the girl remained perfectly still, burying her head like an ostrich. He had no way of dealing with her.

According to the plan, this was the part where he was supposed to fake his passion, wrapping his arms around her and holding her close.

But right now, there was no need to fake anything. He was slowly losing control, genuine arousal flooding his system as his breathing grew ragged.

Without even realizing it, an unfamiliar gasp escaped his lips...

Through the light rain, the black Bentley's window lowered completely, revealing the youthful, arrogant face of Xavier Hawthorne.

"...Sterls?"

He tilted his head slightly, looking genuinely surprised as he took in the sight of the two tangled figures in the back seat.

Unconsciously, the moment Sterling felt his brother's gaze on them, his first instinct was to frantically pull at the hem of Elena's dress, trying to cover her exposed skin.

To an outsider, this clumsy gesture looked exactly like a fierce display of protectiveness and jealousy, making the entire act seem incredibly real.

"Relax, I'm not looking."

Sensing his younger brother's protectiveness, Xavier politely averted his gaze, though he felt a twinge of curiosity.

It was the first time his little brother had brought a woman home, and he was already losing control in the car right outside the gates.

He immediately played the part of the rebellious youth, making sure every word rang loud and clear, projecting the image of a man utterly obsessed with Elena.

To Xavier, this sounded exactly like a rich, sheltered teenager dragging home a deadbeat boyfriend on a motorcycle, yelling at his furious father, 'Dad, he's not just some poor loser!'

"You want to marry her? As if she's worthy."

Xavier scoffed softly, completely disregarding Elena's presence as he radiated upper-class disdain.

However, knowing this was his brother's first love, he understood how arrogant and stubborn young men could be. The more you tried to stop them, the harder they rebelled.

The novelty was still fresh. Once he got bored, he would probably end things on his own.

If it really progressed to talks of marriage, the Hawthorne family had plenty of ruthless fixers who would step in. Xavier wouldn't need to be the bad guy.

He had no desire to damage his relationship with his younger brother over a cheap, manipulative woman.
