"Fuck!"
The moment Elena delivered her loaded reply, Xavier swore viciously, his grip crushing her waist. "Did you and Sterls do it again?"
His voice turned dangerously dark, his breathing heavy.
"Mr. Hawthorne, my sex life with my boyfriend is really none of an outsider's business."
Exactly!
Elena had intentionally refused to change clothes just so she could wear Sterling's shirt and shove it right in Xavier's face.
She was his younger brother's girlfriend now. He couldn't force himself on her!
"I'm an outsider?"
Xavier laughed out of sheer fury, aggressively running his tongue over his teeth. "When you were fucking me, you didn't even know Sterls existed!"
"Mr. Hawthorne, love doesn't care who came first."
In stark contrast to the man's explosive emotions, Elena's voice was completely flat, entirely devoid of any fluctuation.
Xavier ground his fingertips against the fabric of her white shirt, fighting off the visceral urge to tear it to shreds.
Ultimately, he forced his violent impulses down, burying his face in the crook of her neck. "Babe, you almost had me fooled. You two just got back from campus. There's no way you had time."
Elena didn't even try to struggle. Xavier had a military background, and his physical strength was terrifying.
Wearing so little, any futile struggle would only create friction and ignite the man's darkest desires.
But she was a little surprised Xavier was actually analyzing the timeline.
Lowering her gaze listlessly, she reminded him, "Mr. Hawthorne, there was plenty of time in the car on the way back."
"In the car?"
Xavier ground his teeth together, practically growling the words out. "When you were with me, you absolutely refused to do it in the car. You've barely been dating Sterls, and you're already giving him whatever he wants?"
Driven by blinding jealousy, the man's grip bordered on absolute loss of control. His arms clamped around her like iron vice grips, physically hurting Elena.
Even so, Elena merely offered a light laugh. "Mr. Hawthorne, my boyfriend is young, and I'm his first. It's totally understandable that he couldn't control himself, so I just let him have his way."
"You're my first too! Why are you so damn cruel to me?"
The retort flew out of Xavier's mouth entirely out of instinct.
The second he said it, his jaw clenched, and a flicker of awkwardness washed over him.
