The Officer's Runaway Wife & Secret Son novel Chapter 260

Before she could process the thought, a chubby little hand unceremoniously slapped her hand away. The force was surprisingly strong.

The little boy furrowed his brows, fanned the air in front of his nose, and spoke with fierce, childish aggression: "Lady, stay away from me."

Margot was stunned. "...What did you call me?"

"Lady. Or should I call you 'old lady'? You look a little old, but Mommy taught me to be polite and address people as if they're younger."

"You—"

Felix cut her off quickly. "Mommy also said to pay attention to hygiene when we're out. I can't let dirty things touch me. Go away."

Margot was dumbfounded by the little creature.

Dirty things? Her?

"What is wrong with this child..."

"Clara, the car is here." Noah walked over quickly with the keys, having spotted the scene from a distance.

He recognized Margot. Although they had never interacted, he had investigated her; the hospital held plenty of her medical records.

However, the person before him was a far cry from the fragile, willow-like figure in the rumors.

Hearing what Margot had just said, Noah's eyes shifted slightly.

Rhys had been with her?

She certainly had the nerve to lie.

If Rhys hadn't come to find him years ago, and if he hadn't seen Rhys at the kindergarten gates looking like a wreck recently, Noah might have actually believed her.

But he had no intention of exposing the lie.

Noah lowered his eyes.

If Clara believed Margot's words and thought Rhys had started a new life, she would sever her emotional ties even more completely. That might actually be a good thing.

Noah walked over, naturally stepping between Clara and Margot, cutting off the woman's line of sight.

Margot looked at this man who had suddenly appeared.
