The color scheme seemed to be red and white. And there were dozens of other Alpha’s and Luna’s walking around mingling with everyone in the room.
I knew that I was really out of my league here.
I had never seen so many influential people before, but Alpha Logan fit right in.
He was approached as soon as we walked in and he started talking business with a couple of men while I was standing there like a shiny new ornament.
Alpha Logan would look over at me occasionally, but that was about it. He was only a couple of feet away from me, but the second a waiter walked past me with a tray of champagne I grabbed one of them.
I knew that I was going to need something to get through tonight.
I started wandering around, just looking at the room and the decorations. I didn’t know anyone here and they didn’t seem too interested in talking to me, so I just walked around the room.
I was checking out the food on the side of the room, but I didn’t get anything to eat yet. I wasn’t hungry.
But I was interrupted by someone standing next to me.
“You’d think if they were throwing such a brilliant party that they would have better food.” He said to me.
“Yeah. You’d think so.” I scoffed.
“It doesn’t look all too appertizing.”
“I would kill for a burger right now.” I said, turning around and looking back at the crowd. “It doesn’t look like any of these Luna’s even know what a burger is.” I said and he started laughing.
“You’re not like other Luna’s.” He said.
“And how many Luna’s have you known?” I asked.
“Plenty. I’m Alpha Ezra.” He said.
“Alpha Ezra. From the Midnight Pack.” I said.
“Yeah. That’s right. I don’t believe I know where you’re from.” He said.
“I’m Morgan. From the Moon Stone Pack.” I said.
“Alpha Logan’s mate?” He asked.
“Yeah.” I said.
“Damn. I’m sorry.” He said.
“What for?” I asked.
“I don’t want you to get into trouble for talking to me.” He said.

“Am I missing something here?” I asked.
“You obviously don’t know the history between Logan and myself.” He said.
“No. I think they skipped that part in our werewolf history class.” I said.
“Well, there is a lot of history between us and he doesn’t really like me much these days.” Alpha Ezra said,
“Like he can talk. I’m sure there’s plenty of people in this room that hate him.”
“They’re more scared of him than hate him.”
“Alright. I know that I am missing something good here.” I said.
“It’s no big scandal or anything. We used to be friends, but we’re not anymore.” He said.
“Okay. So, does that mean you’re not allowed to talk to me?” I asked.
“Yeah. And by the look that he’s giving us right now, I better go. It was really nice to meet you.” He said. He was really polite as he left and he headed in the other direction to where Alpha Logan was standing and I looked over at Alpha Logan who was glaring daggers at me right now.
He finished his discussion with the group of men that he was talking to and he casually walked over to me with one hand in his tuxedo pocket and he stopped right in front of me.
I saw his eyes flash black before they went back to normal and then he grabbed my arm and he casually took me from the ballroom and we went out the side entrance and down the stairs to the dimly lit garden that would normally look really beautiful if I was a little scared right now about what was going to happen.
As soon as we were far enough away from the packhouse and there was no one else hanging around Logan stopped and spun me around so I was standing in front of him.
Without saying a word, he slapped me so hard across my face that I lost my footing. 3
I stood there in shock, holding my face and unable to think of anything to say in this moment while he was just standing there staring at me.
“Don’t come back inside until you fix that red cheek.” He casually said to me before he turned around and went back inside. 3
