LILLY’S POV
I didn’t know what I had done wrong but they barged into my dorm room this morning and said that I was being moved to a different base.
I have a mixture of feelings. I knew that I would be glad to be away from Hayes, but I was going to miss my friends from here.
I wanted to get a fresh start somewhere else. A place where they didn’t know who I was.
Everyone around here knows that I’m the orphan who was raised on the base.
I know that it won’t take them long to find out that shit at the new base, but I might get a little bit of a reprieve for a little while at least.
I wanted to say goodbye to Jason but I haven’t seen him. And the guards are here now waiting to transport me.
One of them carried my bag and they took me outside to a jeep and we left the base.
I looked around everywhere, but there was no sign of him. And no sign of Camilla. I hope they don’t think that I just don’t care about them.
I’ll try and call them when I get to the new base. Wherever that might be.
I saw Hayes watching me as I was leaving, with a stupid little grin on his face and I was confused what it was meant to mean. I thought he’d be happy to keep me here so he could keep torturing me.
A man that I once thought was my ally, was my biggest enemy. Even more than those damn werewolves.
It took us three hours to arrive at the new base and I saw soldiers around everywhere doing calisthenics, practicing at the shooting range, running the perimeter of the base, doing obstacle courses. It looked like it was a really tight run ship.
Not like the last place where we could just do those things when we were ready to do them.
I didn’t see a single soldier standing around doing nothing.
I looked around the room and there was no one personal item in this whole room. Plus I had my own dorm at the last base.
Why am I sharing with a dozen other soldiers here?
“Come on. We have to meet the Captain.” He said. And I nodded my head again. Looking more nervous than ever.
As we were walking to the Captain’s office Justin was showing me all of the different buildings and what they were used for. He told me to pay close attention because he didn’t want to tell me again and didn’t want me to get lost at any time.
He showed me where his bunk house was so that’s where he would be if I needed him, which I couldn’t see myself going to his bunk house to go and see him about anything.
I’m sure if I had a problem then it could wait until the morning.
The more I looked around at this army base, the more scared I was getting.
