The Omega and The Arrogant Alpha (by Kylie) novel Chapter 157

I had been working on that obstacle course all day and I still wasn’t able to beat the record. So at dinner time I went to get something to eat and we went to sit at our usual table.

“Wow. Look at the blisters on your hands.” Jesse said, sitting next to me.

“I know. That course today really kicked my butt. I hope we get to do something different tomorrow.” I said.

“How long have you been at this base?” Eric asked.

“I just arrived yesterday. I’m still getting used to everything here as well.”

“Wow. That’s good to know. We’re not the only newbies.”

“I think us four are the newest ones they’ve had in a long time. Everyone seems to be pretty interested.” I said.

“Well, they’ll get over it.” Ben said.

“I really hope so.”

“Don’t you like being the center of attention?”

“I just like to do my job and not have everyone judging me for it.” I said.

“Well, that’s fair enough.” He said.

I kept looking over at Ben. There was something about him that I couldn’t quite put my finger on.

It was starting to drive me crazy.

But when he looked up at me, I realized I had been staring at him and I stopped and kept eating my dinner.

“Is everything alright?” Ben asked.

“Yeah. Everything’s fine.” I said.

I didn’t understand why I was so fascinated with him. He had to be at least 6 foot 6 with really gorgeous features, but I’d met so many guys like that. I had never been attracted to them or anything like that. Why would this be happening with Ben?

I could tell that all the other girls were staring at the three new guys. They all looked overly interested in them.

And not just the Hunters. The girls in green as well. They were all looking and I could tell that they all wanted a piece of whatever he had to offer.

When dinner was over I was glad to get out of that dining room.

I couldn’t figure out what it actually smelt like.

It was really strange.

When I heard everyone else coming towards the bunk house I sat on my bed and grabbed a book out and started reading it.

“What’s that?” Ben asked, sitting on his bed.

“It’s just an old book. I don’t even know where I got it from. I’ve just always had it.” I explained. So he leaned over and looked at the title.

“Interview with a Vampire. That’s an interesting story for a Hunter to read.” He said.

“I know. It’s a good book. I heard that it’s been turned into a movie but I haven’t seen it.” I said.

“And you don’t know where you got the book from?” Eric asked, sitting on his bed.

“No. I’ve just always had it. I probably took it when I was too young to remember and forgot to give it back.” I said.

“Why would you be reading something like that if you were too young to even remember taking it?” Ben asked.
