The Omega and The Arrogant Alpha (by Kylie) novel Chapter 31

Chapter 31

“That explains it.” I said.

When mom got home that night I got her to take the stitches out of my back. The wounds were pretty much healed up again, but she was afraid that I would have scars.

I didn’t really didn’t care about that.

The following morning I went to work like I always did and everyone was watching me, but no one was talking to

Even in large wolf packs, word gets around pretty quickly. And that’s what happened here. They had heard that I was attacked by rogues and that I was fighting them off.

They probably didn’t think that I could do anything like that. Not being an omega.

But I just ignored them and concentrated on what I was meant to be doing. The work that I was meant to be doing.

When we were finally finished unloading the last pallet I went to my locker to get my things when Jack came out of his office.

“Morgan. Can I see you for a minute?” He asked.

I looked at him for a moment, hesitating, before I knew I didn’t have a choice. If I wanted to keep my job, I had to follow him.

I went back to his office where he was waiting for me and he closed the door behind us.

I could hear all the other workers leaving and I was alone in the warehouse with Jack.

“How are you doing today?” He asked.

“I’m fine. Why wouldn’t I be?” I asked.

“I didn’t expect you in today. We heard about the rogue attack.” He said.

“I’m sure you did. Everyone has apparently heard about it.” I said.

“How did they get so close to your house?” He asked.

“Because I live in a trailer in the woods where the patrols don’t patrol. It’s always been a weak spot where rogues could get over the border.” I explained.

“That sucks. I heard that you saved your mother that night.”

“She’s not strong enough to even shift into her wolf anymore. Not since my father died…is there a reason you needed to see me?” I asked, getting antsy being in his office.

“Well, I just wanted you to know that just because everyone else in the pack thinks of you as a lower form of life than an omega, I don’t.” He said.

“Okay.” I said.

“Actually, I think you are pretty incredible for what you’ve been through.” He said, moving my hair over my shoulder.

“I really need to get home.” I said.

“No. I think you can stay for a bit.” He said, moving his hand down lower and wrapping it around my waist.

“Jack. Take your hands off of me.” I said.

“Why? Don’t tell me that you’re not flattered. I mean, no one else in this pack is going to give you the time of day.” He said, taking a step even closer to me.

I could smell his damn breath breathing right into my face.

“I told you, get away from me.” I said, pushing him backwards.

“You little bitch.” He snapped, slapping me so hard across the face that I fell against the filing cabinet in the

corner of the room.

He came up behind me and he grabbed me around the chest in a bear hug, so I threw my head back and headbutted

him.

He stumbled back a little and when I went for the door he grabbed me by the hair and pulled me back.

He threw me backwards onto his desk and he held his hand around my throat.

“You’re gonna be sorry that you did that.” He snarled, leaning down to smell my scent in the crook of my neck.
