Chapter 49
LOGAN POV
While I was sitting in my office trying to get some paperwork done, the door flung open and her scent hit me immediately.
“Honey. I’ve been looking for you everywhere.” Penelope said.
“I’m working.” I said.
“You promised to take me to lunch.” She said.
“No I didn’t. I said that I would if I could. Take some friends. I’ve got a lot of work to catch up on.” I said, without even looking up at her.
“Well, we are meant to be wedding planning this afternoon.” She said, folding her arms and tapping her high heel on the marble floor.
“I will be there if I can. Being the Alpha is not just a fucking title. I have a job to do.” I said through gritted teeth.
“Why are you talking to me like that?” Penelope asked.
“You know exactly why I am talking to you like that.” I said.
“Oh, is this because of that pathetic omega? Oh my goddess, Logan. I know that it was a mistake. She bewitched you somehow. I have forgiven you.” She said, walking over to my desk. And I looked up at her.
“What the fuck do you know about that omega?” I asked.
“I know that you were crushing on her pretty bad before she left town. But she’s gone now and we can get on with our lives. My uncle is really looking forward to this wedding” She said.
I scowled at her and then put my head back down to my paperwork.
“Take some friends.” I insisted.
So she turned around and left the office and slammed the door as she left.
“Beta Levi.” I mind linked.
“Yes, Alpha.” Levi answered.
“Find a couple of warriors to watch Penelope. 24 hours a day. But she can’t know.” I demanded.
“Yes, sir.” He said. And I cut the link.
I got up and looked out the window and I reached into my pocket and I pulled out Morgan’s dad’s watch. The one that she was so desperate to protect.
I managed to get a hold of it when I searched their trailer. I guess she left in such a hurry that she forgot it.
I eventually got sick of looking at the same walls in my office, so I grabbed a bottle of bourbon from the bar and I took it up to my room and locked the door.
Everyone in the pack knew what that meant. To stay the hell away from me.
I sat on the couch in the corner of my room and I pulled my phone out.

“Hello.” The man answered.
“Alpha Roman. It’s Logan Abraham again. Have you heard back from your contacts?” I asked.
“I’m sorry. They all got back to me and none of them know where your mate is. None of them claim to have her.” Alpha Roman said.
“Something happened in those woods. I just don’t know what.” I said.
“I know. I saw the photos that you sent. There was definitely an accident. And if you say that there was blood leading into the woods and then it suddenly stopped, it could mean that her wounds healed up.” Roman said.
He was making a bit of sense there. Werewolves do heal fast and if it was a superficial wound then it would have healed really fast.
“No. That can’t be right. She wouldn’t have been able to walk that far into the woods while she was still bleeding if it was a minor injury.” I said.
“Okay. I’ll take your word for that. But if someone took her to get back at you, then no one is talking about it.” Alpha Roman said.
“Thanks for your help.” I said and I hung up.
I called a few other Alpha’s that I had called and they all said the same thing. They didn’t know where the hell Morgan was.
I pulled the lid off of the bourbon and I didn’t even bother pouring it into a glass. I just drank it straight from the bottle.
