I sat there staring at my phone for ages. There was a photo of Morgan that I had taken without her knowledge. I actually had a lot of photos that I had taken when she wasn’t looking. 1

She looked so much more beautiful when she wasn’t posing for the photos.

She was so much more natural. And that’s what I loved about her.

Penelope always needed to be caked in makeup, wearing the most expensive clothing, the most revealing clothing and if she saw a camera pointed at her, she always posed for it.

Morgan was so different from her. I don’t understand how they trained Penelope to be the perfect mate for me, but she’s nothing like my actual mate.1

Penelope’s just a fucking joke.

I had gotten through that bottle of bourbon when I got up and walked to the cabinet on the other side of my bedroom.

I grabbed another bottle and I opened it up and started drinking it as well.

I walked over to the window and I started staring outside at the warriors training and Penelope was outside talking to some lady about the wedding that she was planning. Which just made me drink more, and I went and sat in the dark corner. So she couldn’t see me and knew that I wasn’t working. Otherwise she’d be in my fucking face again.

I kept looking at my phone and I scrolled to the one number that I really didn’t want to call. But I was out of options. So I dialed the number.

“Hello.” Ezra said.

“Do you know where she is?” I asked.

“Excuse me?” He asked.

“Do you know where Morgan is?” I asked.

“Logan?” He asked.

“Yeah. It’s Logan. She disappeared from my pack, days ago. Have you heard anything about her? I know that you took a shine to her and I’m scared that she’s in trouble.” I insisted.

“Why would you think she’s in trouble? You’re an asshole. Maybe she just wanted to get the hell away from you.”

Ezra said.

“The car she was driving crashed. There was a blood trail in the woods, but then it ended. And so did her scent. I’m afraid that someone might have her.” I insisted.

“I haven’t heard anything about Morgan. I wouldn’t know where she is.” Ezra said.

“Can you just listen out to other Alpha’s in case they are bragging about taking her?” I asked.

“Sure. I can do that.” He said.

“Who’s that on the phone?” A woman asked.

“Who was that?” I asked.

“My girlfriend. Look Logan, I don’t know where Morgan is but I will call a few Alpha’s around this area. Maybe they’ve heard something.” Ezra said.

“Thank you.” I said, and I hung up.

I then went downstairs and I called Beta Levi to the packhouse.

“What’s up, Alpha?” Levi asked coming into the house.

“I want you to send some scouts to Alpha Ezra’s pack.” I said.

“The Midnight Pack? What for?” He asked.

“Just check the place out. Let me know what you find.” I demanded.

“Yes, sir. I’ll get some warriors together now and we’ll leave as soon as possible.” He said.

“Good.” I said, going back upstairs.

I knew that they would have to look at maps and organize when they were going to go, but I made a point of

telling Levi to leave today. So I went back up to my room and I closed the door and locked it.

Alpha Ezra didn’t have a girlfriend. He was a known bachelor. Why would he suddenly get a girlfriend now, right after Morgan goes missing. And after I know that he definitely took a shine to her at that party.

I wasn’t going to leave anything to chance.
