Maddy waited for me to get changed and she took me down town, in the middle of the pack.

Everyone was staring at me, which I was trying to ignore. But they were still curious about who this new girl was.

We went into a very high end boutique to start looking for a dress to wear and I looked at the price tag on some of the dresses and I told Maddy that we had to go somewhere else.

“Why? We have Nathan’s credit card. It’s actually a pack credit card. You’re living with the guys, I’m surprised they haven’t given you your own.” She said.

“Ezra tried. But I wouldn’t take it.” I said.

“I can see that.” She said, looking at my clothes. The same clothes that I bought from my old pack.

“I know. I do need a new wardrobe. I’m gonna start looking for a job.

“Aren’t you starting college tomorrow?” She asked.

“Yeah. Why?” I asked.

“Because, you’re not going to have any time to get a job. Just let them pay for it. Trust me, they can afford it.” She said.

“I’m sure they can. But they know I don’t like handouts.” I said.

“Oh sweetie, stop being so stubborn. You need their help. And today, I will help you. Now, we have to get you back to the packhouse by 4pm. So, we have a lot of shit to do before then. You need a dress and accessories for tonight. You need clothes to wear to college. You need books for college. There’s so much stuff you need that you don’t have money for. And now, the Alpha is paying for everything.” She said.

“I am really going to hate this.” I said.

“Probably. But you better get used to it. Because those guys look at you like a little sister. The whole pack can already see that and you’ve only been here about a week.” She said.

“I haven’t even met the pack.” I said.

“I know. And if you were anyone else looking for asylum then Alpha Ezra would have put you up in the hotel or in a house in town. But they’re letting you live in the packhouse. Which means they feel the need to protect you. It’s a good thing.” She said.

“It’s weird. I’ve never had anyone feel that they need to protect me. Not since my dad died.” I said.

“Well, get used to it. Because those boys are loyal.” She said.

“I don’t doubt that.” I said.

We looked for the perfect evening dress for me to wear tonight along with shoes and jewelry. And then we looked for casual clothes for school and books for school.

Maddy ended up having to call for one of the pack cars to come and get us because we had too much stuff to carry home.

We stopped to have some lunch as well, and then we started shopping again.

We got back to the packhouse just before 4, and the guys were looking at everything we bought.

“I am so sorry. You gave Maddy a credit card and she went nuts with it.” I said.

“Is all of that stuff for you?” Ezra asked.

“Yeah. Clothes and books for school.” I said.

“Then that’s fine. You needed a new wardrobe and you wouldn’t take the money from me, so I’m glad that Maddy talked you into it.” He said.

I heard a lot of noise coming from outside of the packhouse, so I walked over to the window and I saw people everywhere setting up the tables and chairs, the arch, the decorations, everything. It was being completely transformed and I couldn’t believe how beautiful it was really looking out there.

The flowers and the lights being set up.

Everything was looking perfect already.

I had to get upstairs to my bedroom and I had a shower.

I came out wearing a robe and there were two people waiting in my room. So I sat in the of the vanity while one was working on my make up and the other was working on my hair.

I kept my makeup pretty neutral with some brown in there and my hair was curled and left down for the event. 1

As soon as they left I had to get dressed into my pale pink, high neckline chiffon dress with thin straps that went around my arm but didn’t cover my back at all, and a little train that followed behind it.
