Chapter 75
As soon as I was sure that Ezra and Nathan were in bed, I snuck out and down the stairs.
I grabbed my coat and put my boots on and I started walking towards the forest.
I had to be really careful about where the patrols were, and I was lucky that I had gotten used to avoiding them back home. So getting past them this time wasn’t that hard.
When I got to the border, I stepped over without looking back and I walked further into the forest and stayed away from the highway.
I also needed to be careful of scouts. In case Logan was watching the place. I didn’t go to all this trouble just to get caught now.
I made it to a rock formation in the middle of the woods and I climbed up on them and I sat there waiting.
I must have been waiting for about half an hour before I felt a sudden gush of wind blow past me.
“Hi Cory.” I said, without even looking at him.
“Hi. You said this was important.” He said. And I showed him a photocopy of the treaty that I printed.
“I’m guessing that’s what you wanted me to find.” I said.
“It’s part of it. There’s still a lot there that you need to figure out.” He said.
“Are you part of the Nash coven?” I asked.
“Yeah. I am.” He said.
“So, you have a treaty with my old pack. You know that I’m here. Does that mean you told Logan?” I asked.
“No. Why the hell would I do that?” He asked.
“Because you are apparently meant to show your loyalty to him. That’s part of a peace treaty. Not to betray each other.” I said.
“The Alpha was Terry Jameson. We never made a treaty with his family. Only the Jameson’s. The treaty is ineffective until the Jameson’s take back control of that pack.” He explained. 1
“Who is Terry to me?” I asked.
“It’s all in the book.” He said.
“I’m not reading another 200 years worth of bullshit about that pack. I want to know what the hell that Alpha has to do with me.” I insisted.
“He’s your ancestor. Logan’s family stole the pack from your family. And you need to claim it back.” He said.
“Is that why I was mated to Logan?” I asked.
“Probably. But then you rejected him and you ran away. That wasn’t really part of the plan.”
“What plan? Why am I apart of any fucking plan?” I yelled.
“Because you are the one that is meant to take back the pack. You’re the prophet.” He said. And I started laughing.
“I am not a fucking prophet. I lived in a trailer and was treated like trash. And now I’m pregnant with Logan’s

baby. How the hell am I meant to take the pack back from him?” I asked.
“I don’t know. But all I do know is that you are the one that has to do it.” He said.
“How many are in your coven?” I asked.
“Well, when the treaty was made there were four. Now there’s 10.” He said.
“Were you one of the originals in the Nash coven?” I asked.
“Yeah. I was the second one. The man that created me, created everyone else in the coven as well. And they were all life or death situations.” He explained.
“How old are you?” I asked.
“280.” He said.
“And the one that created you?” I asked.
“560. He lived that whole time alone. And when he found me, he said that he just saw something more in me. He couldn’t let me die. I was only 17 when he turned me and we feed on animals. We don’t kill humans. None of us.” He explained. 1
“Well, since you seem to think I am the prophet, I guess it’s safe to say that your whole coven thinks that I am?” 1 asked.
