Chapter 76
“Yeah. They all believe it.” He said.
“When do I meet them?” I asked.
“Why do you want to?” He asked.
“I think I have a right to. And I have a right to know why you think I’m a fucking prophet.” I said.
Cory looked like he was getting a little anxious and antsy talking about this. He didn’t seem to comfortable with me meeting the rest of his family but I wasn’t going to budge on the subject. If they think I am that special, then I want to meet them and find out why they think that. I have a right to.
“I’ll have to talk to them about it.” He said.
“Well, you do that. And hurry up and get back to me. I don’t have a lot of time to waste on this bullshit notion of yours.” I said.
“You don’t believe that a werewolf war is brewing?” He asked.
“Of course there is. But there always is. There are always Alpha’s that don’t get along and threaten to kill each other and destroy each other’s packs. That’s a way of life for us.” I explained.
“That’s a pretty shitty way to live.” He said.
“Really? And are you saying that in 280 years, you haven’t had any trouble with anyone at all? No other species trying to take you out? Not even werewolves which caused this treaty in the first place?” I asked.
“Maybe we’ve had problems. But it’s nothing like what we’ve seen. There are werewolf packs all around the country that are gearing up for a war.”
“What war?” I asked.
“I don’t know. That’s the problem. We don’t know what they are fighting over.” He said.
I stood up and climbed down off the rock formation and I looked into the forest. I knew that I had to hurry up and get back, and I needed to do it soon. There was already a possibility that the patrols had picked up my scent leaving the pack.
This had to be a quick meeting, but it was dragging out longer than I expected. All because he brought up me being a prophet. This biggest load of bullshit I have ever heard of.
I didn’t know what the hell to say right now. Not to Cory and I wasn’t even sure what I was going to say to his family if I did meet them.
But this whole prophecy thing had to come from somewhere and I needed to know what they know.
Suddenly out of nowhere, a loud vicious growl let out a few feet away from us, causing me to jump and spin around to be faced with a large black wolf.
He shifted back into his human form and Ezra was standing there.
“What the fuck is wrong with you? You scared the shit out me?” I yelled.
“What are you doing here with him?” Ezra demanded through gritted teeth.
“I needed to ask him something about a treaty that he had made with my old pack.” I said.

“How do you two know each other?”
“I don’t know. He showed up in the trailer one night while I was there alone. He only shows up every so often to warn me like some freaky little fortune teller.” I said.
“You stay the fuck away from my land and my people, leech.” Ezra growled at Cory.
“I never meant to cause you any more problems. I’m sorry. I didn’t know that she was going to run away to you.” Cory said.
“Wait a minute. Do you two know each other?” I asked.
“He’s the bastard vampire that stole my mate.” Ezra growled. And I looked at Cory in surprise.
Well, maybe Cory isn’t going to be able to introduce me to his family. Not if he doesn’t make it out of here alive.
