Chapter 109 Let’s talk land…
Bridget’s POV
“Same to you. Seriously-did you grow since this morning?” She stares at my belly like
it’s performing magic, then pats her own stomach with a grin.
“Yep. I’m basically coated in cocoa butter at all times,” I say, laughing as we step into my
new suite. “I’m still holding out hope I’ll get back to the body Ryder and I both loved.”
The Alpha and Luna suite is enormous: a proper living room, a dining area, and doors
that open to a terrace. Beyond that is the master bedroom, a walk-in closet, and a
bathroom big enough to get lost in.
And yes-I had everything changed out. I didn’t want a single item left behind that
Ryder’s parents had ever had sex on. I love them fiercely, but I also have boundaries.
“Please,” Evelyn says, rubbing her stomach. “That man worships you. Every inch.”
“I know,” I admit, smiling like a girl with her first crush. “I’m lucky.”
We head into the master bedroom. The bed has been transformed into a pillow fortress,
including two huge maternity pillows meant for us. Snack carts sit on both sides like
we’re being catered to. A massive seventy-inch TV is already set to a movie channel.
Our warriors do one more sweep, then help clear out, leaving us to settle in.
“So,” Evelyn asks, easing onto the bed, “are you ready for the ball tomorrow? We moved
it up so the babies don’t beat us to it. Think you’ll keep them in?”
She reaches across the bed and touches my stomach.
Instantly, the twins start kicking like they’re protesting.
I shoot her a hard look. She yanks her hand away immediately. “Okay, okay-sorry!
Babies, Auntie apologizes. Back to sleep mode.”
Without a word, I reach over and press my palm to her belly.
Her mouth drops open.
Her stomach starts to glow, and her baby stirs like I flipped a switch.

“Bridget!” she bursts out laughing. “Perfect. Now this little eggplant is going to be
awake all night!”
I place my hand there again, letting soothing energy spill out.
The baby calms right down.
Evelyn blinks at me like I’ve just performed a miracle. “You have to teach me that. You’re
officially the baby whisperer.”
“I swear my abilities change every day,” I say, and I can’t help smiling. “Right alongside the twins’ growth spurts. But I’m excited for the ball. Everything’s ready-including the
gowns.”
I almost sigh just thinking about them. “The empire-waist ball gowns are gorgeous. And making it a Bridgerton theme was the best decision we’ve ever made. We’re obsessed.”
“Exactly,” Evelyn says, eyes bright. “It’s the perfect thank-you to everyone-women in those iconic gowns, men in suits and top hats. I cannot wait to see our guys.”
She actually swoons.
I chuckle, feeling the twins shift and roll like they’re joining in.
Pregnancy has been the most unhinged ride of my life. I’ve exploded. For the last week I’ve been seeing my doctor every other day. Dr. Kira keeps telling me I’m doing well, but… I’m a completely new species carrying “Omni-twins.” There are no charts. No
comparisons.
Evelyn started calling them that, and I’m pretty sure it’s going to stick.
I’m not allowed to do half the Luna duties I want to. Thankfully Luna Kendra has stepped
up, and Therese-our Gamma’s mate-helps whenever Evelyn and I are too worn out.
I still try to move. I walk the gardens. I circle the castle when I can.
“My little eggplant’s room is almost done,” Evelyn says, sounding proud. “Connor and I
want to be surprised, so we’re staying neutral until the baby’s born.”
A knock sounds from the front.
“Knock, knock.” Ryder’s voice.

I sit up straighter. “Ryder? Why are you up here? Did something happen at your m
eeting?”
“Yes,” he says, and his tone turns serious. “Actually, you’re needed. It involves you.”
I frown, confused. How could anything about land involve me?
He’s at my side in a blur-vamp speed-helping me off the bed like I’m something
precious. In the living room, I spot Connor waiting to do the same for Evelyn.
We start downstairs, and Ryder mind-links me as we go. ‘Just so you’re not blindsided.
When you kill someone, you inherit what’s theirs. Their possessions. Their land. Their
people.’
I stop mid-step and stare at him.
“What?” I manage. “People? I don’t own people. We don’t own people!”
Ryder’s expression stays calm. “Not like slavery. It’s leadership-like in war. You become
the new ruler of that territory. Anyone there can leave whenever they want.”
He hesitates. “But I doubt anyone’s even still on that land. You… kind of wiped them out
on the battlefield with your siren call.”
My chest tightens. “Oh. Everyone?”
He squeezes my hand as we reach his office. Rhett and Rocco stand guard, smiling as we approach. Seeing them steady again warms me. After their close calls months ago,
they’d been in therapy-and now they look fully themselves.
“It was a small rogue pack,” Ryder adds. “No women. No children. We did find a few
captives, but we either relocated them or let them join us-remember?”
I nod slowly.
“And the Darkstone Coven land is barren,” he continues. “It’s north of us.”
I stare at the office door, still trying to wrap my head around it. “What am I supposed to do with land?”
“You’ll know when it matters,” Ryder says, like it’s the simplest thing in the world.
That faith he has in me-the way he anchors me-always steadies my feet.

Inside, two elders I’ve never met are waiting. Their auras hit like a wave-ancient, heavy
power.
“Bridget,” Ryder says, guiding me forward, “this is Elder Jeremiah and Elder Lorelei.
They’re from the sacred mountains, where the elders reside.”
They both rise.
And then both of their gazes snap straight to my stomach.
Their faces freeze in open shock.
‘Surprise’ is probably not the correct word.
But I’m me.
“Surprise,” I say anyway, pointing at my belly.
Silence.
Then Ryder and Connor both laugh under their breath.
I smile politely. “It’s nice to meet you.”
Elder Jeremiah blinks like he’s recalibrating. “I know we’re on sacred soil, but the energy coming off you is… extraordinary. I’m Jeremiah. It’s an honor. I’ve heard so much about you.” His eyes narrow slightly. “We weren’t aware you were with child… children?”
He looks like he’s trying to see through my skin with his gift.
“Yes,” I answer evenly. “Twins. A boy and a girl. Thank you for coming. And we’d
appreciate it if this stayed quiet-we’re having a party tomorrow, and we’re planning a
surprise.”
He nods at once.
Elder Lorelei studies me. “Your pack must respect you deeply. Not one whisper of your
powerful pregnancy has left these lands.”
Her tone softens. “It’s a pleasure, Omni-Wolf.”

“Bridget is fine,” I tell her, smiling. Then I tilt my head. “Ryder said there was land information?”
I walk around Ryder’s desk and lower myself into his chair. Ryder stays close, one arm draped along the back like he belongs there-which, to be fair, he does.
Elder Jeremiah clears his throat. “Yes, Luna Bridget-sorry. Bridget.” He looks down at
the folder in his hands. “Because you killed the leader of the Darkstone coven, his land
transfers to you. Roughly thirty acres at the state line, north of your pack territory.”
I stare at him. “How did he even obtain land like that? And if he had so few people, how
was he planning to cultivate it?”
“He challenged the previous owner and killed him,” Jeremiah replies. “During the fight,
everyone fled. He intended to build a pack from nothing.”
A pause.
“And he had dreams of using you to construct his empire.”
Behind me, Ryder makes a sound of pure disgust. “That was never going to happen.”
I exhale slowly. “So what happens now? How do we proceed?”
Jeremiah opens the folder and extends it to me. “These are the deeds. It’s yours. You can do anything you choose with it.”
I take the papers, scanning them. “I’ll have our lawyer review everything.”
Then I pass the documents back to Ryder for safekeeping. “Thank you. And we hope
you’ll attend the ball tomorrow night.”
Jeremiah inclines his head. “Luna Bridget, we would be honored.”
Ryder stands. “We have room in the royal cottages. Our staff will get you settled. Dinner’s in the main hall-unless you prefer it sent to your rooms. Connor will escort
you.”
Connor rises with an easy nod and leads them out.
Ryder closes the office door and turns to me.
“Well,” he murmurs, voice turning warm, “my powerful mate just acquired land.”

He crosses the room and leans over me, bracketing the chair with his arms so I’m nicely trapped. Not that I can bolt anywhere right now anyway.
I sink back, grinning up at him. “Why don’t you take me upstairs and give me a very good reason to share it with you?”
I wiggle my eyebrows.
His eyes darken. “Done.”
A knock interrupts us.
Ryder straightens, but his hand stays possessively on the chair. “Come in.”
The door opens.
A tall, broad-shouldered blond man steps inside-chiseled face, controlled posture, and an almost-smile that doesn’t quite commit.
“Iron Fang!” I squeal, trying to stand too fast.
“There she is,” he says, and-Goddess above-he speaks. “My favorite Omni-Wolf.”
Then he nods to Ryder. “Alpha.”
Ryder helps me up, and the two of them clasp hands.
“It’s so good to see you,” I say, attempting a hug that my belly immediately vetoes.
After Ryder gives a small nod, Iron Fang gives me a careful side-hug.
Still, he’s the only man besides Ryder’s dad who can touch me without Talon growling.
“You too,” Iron Fang says, gaze dropping to my stomach. “Those babies are going to be
here before we know it.”
Ryder looks at me like I hung the moon. “We’re counting down.”
Then his attention returns to Iron Fang. “Will you be coming back soon?”
“I came to ask to return to your detail tomorrow,” Iron Fang answers. “Just in time for the
ball.”
“I would love that,” I say, bright with relief.
