Bridget – 3 years later

Calling my life chaotic would be an understatement. Every morning I open my eyes beside the man I once believed was never meant to be mine. Ryder brings me stillness. He settles the parts of me that used to run wild-and somehow, at the same time, he keeps pushing me to grow.
It’s barely morning, but I already know what’s coming. Any minute now I will hear two
sets of little feet drumming down the hallway. Rowen and Roslyn are three now, and
they’re… exceptional. I know every parent says that. Still, I swear the moon goddess
carved their path with her own hands.
And then there’s Ryder.
Lying there, I watch him like I’m seeing him for the first time. His chest is bare, rising and
falling in a slow, steady rhythm while I count the space between each breath.
“If you keep looking at me like that,” Ryder says, eyes still shut, “I’m going to have to
bend you over and claim you. Ravage you until you’re begging me to stop, Bridget.”
He’s awake. Of course he is. The fact that he knows exactly what I’m doing makes my
mouth curve.
I love him sleeping, but my body prefers him alert.
I crawl across the bed and feel the hard promise of him beneath the sheets-already ready for me. I press my lips to his chest, leaving kisses in a slow trail. Down. Lower.
Past his stomach. I pause near his belly button and look up.
His gaze has locked on mine. For a split second his eyes flash black-Talon is paying
attention too.
I keep going until I’m at him, and I kiss him through the fabric, gentle and taunting. His
breathing turns rough.
“Bridget. Don’t-” he starts.
I pull the sheets away and take him into my mouth, all the way until my throat stretches

around him. Ryder’s hand fists in my hair. He thrusts upward, forcing himself deeper, and
I take it. Goddess-his taste is unreal.
I look up as I suck him hard, letting the sound of my moan vibrate around him.
“Fuck!”
Ryder jerks upright and hauls me close, turning me and lifting until I’m straddling him. He slides himself between my slick folds, and I roll my hips back and forth, making him
wait.
“That feels so good, baby,” I breathe.
His fingers clamp around my thighs and he lowers me, slowly, until he fills me.
“Oh, goddess!”
My palms brace on his chest as I start riding him. He takes one breast into his mouth and sucks hard-exactly the way I like. His arms band around my waist, controlling the
rhythm, driving me down to take him deeper.
“I love how wet you stay for me, Bridget,” he says, voice strained. “Best damn way to
wake up.”
He hits that spot with practiced precision, pushing me closer, inch by inch.
“More,” I beg, breath breaking. “Please-harder.”
He flips me, fast, and pins my legs over his shoulders. Every stroke bottoms out, and the
wet sounds mix with my cries.
“Yes, Ryder!”
The orgasm climbs too fast to hold back. My body starts to shake while he speeds up,
pounding into me with a deadly kind of perfection.
“I’m coming… Ryder!” I scream.
He drives harder, relentless, and the headboard takes the punishment as I brace.
“Come with me, baby,” he grunts.
His fangs slide out and he bites into my neck, marking me again-like he hasn’t done it a
thousand times already. I shatter instantly, screaming until my throat burns.

I grab him, latch onto his neck too, needing him to feel what I’m feeling. He spills deep inside me, and I feel every pulse coating me, claiming me from the inside.
We lick each other’s fresh marks, sealing them-until next time.
He stays buried in me, his cock still thick, still swollen.
“I think I’ll just live right here for a while,” Ryder murmurs, teasing.
I squeeze him with my muscles.
“Shit…”
He’s still rocking into me, slow and deep.
“We should have another baby,” he says, and I can’t help the smile that spreads.
“I thought we agreed we’d wait until the twins start preschool. That’s a year away.”
“Yeah,” he says, like it’s nothing. “But I love you pregnant. We should keep trying.”
Honestly? I don’t mind. If you ask me, sooner is better. I want more of him, more of us.
And I already stopped taking birth control months ago.
The twins have settled into pack life like they were born for it. Their gifts are already
showing.
I nod.
“Yeah?” Ryder asks, bright with excitement.
“Let’s do it,” I say.
His hands pin my wrists over my head. “Round two, then.”
I start laughing-and then freeze.
We hear it together.
Small footsteps racing down the hall.

They shout in perfect unison, pounding on the door, giggles spilling through the wood.
“Come in,” Ryder calls, voice booming.
He hops up and yanks on his pajama pants. I pull my gown back into place, covering
myself just as the door cracks open.
Two little heads peek in-dark brown curls, matching mischief-then they fling the door
wider and sprint for the bed.
It’s still too tall for them to leap up on their own. Rowen, ever the doting big brother,
shoves Roslyn up first.
Once she’s on, she turns and grabs him, helping haul him after her.
They take care of each other like it’s instinct. I hope they never lose that. Watching them
together makes something in my chest go warm and tight.
Rowen carries pieces of both of us.
Roslyn, though-she stole Ryder’s whole face.
“Good morning, my babies,” I say, pulling them close.
“I’m not a baby!” Rowen declares, like he does every morning. “I’m a man!”
I laugh. “Sorry. You two will always be my babies.”
“Mooooom,” Rowen groans.
“I don’t mind being your baby, mommy!” Roslyn says, flopping beside me before twisting
around to launch herself at her father.
“Thank you, sweet Roslyn,” I tease.
Ryder scoops them with ease. “Alright, you two-who wants chocolate chip pancakes, and a plate of bacon and eggs?”
“We do! We do!” they shout together.
They giggle as he roughhouses with them, each tucked under an arm like they weight

I sit there for a second, watching my whole heart move around the room, and I can’t
ignore how blessed I am to have everything I ever wanted.
“Good afternoon, Luna.”
The voice cuts in, and I turn to see Montgomery standing over me, his shadow falling
across the grass like a blanket.
I’m outside on the lawn, watching the kids play with the other pack children near the
pack house.
“Montgomery,” I say, genuinely surprised. “I haven’t seen you in a while. Back from
another mission?”
He drops down beside me, settling into the grass. “Yep. Pulled three more girls out of
goddess knows what.”
He’s still like that-half here, half somewhere else—yet somehow fully ours. He finally
accepted the pack as family, but he stays busy in a way that doesn’t leave much room for
resting.
He used to disappear, come back, disappear again.
