The Omni-Wolf’s Choice novel Chapter 114

Chapter 114 – Bonus Chapter 3 of 3

Bridget’s POV

There’s a particular edge to blood on the air that flips a switch in me-bright, electric,

almost joyful. If I claimed I hadn’t missed a real fight, I’d be full of it.

After we handled three out of four of my mates, life had slowed to a crawl. And for once,

I’d welcomed it. I’d had time to breathe. Time to raise our babies.

They are everything.

Them… and the beautiful man across the chaos who just sent me a wink like we’re at

some party instead of a slaughter.

Yeah. Let’s finish this, then go home.

“On your left!” Montgomery’s voice hits like a warning shot, a rough growl layered with

his bear.

I catch the motion at the e Chapter Unlocked, Enjoy Reading!s shifted form rip a man

clean in half-someone who had been closing in on me.

I give Montgomery a sharp nod and launch myself onto the long dining table, sliding

over polished wood slicked with overturned goblets.

Three warriors sprint straight for me.

One opens his mouth and pushes that siren pull-sweet, coercive, meant to sink hooks

into my head.

Too bad for him.

I’m immune.

My hands snatch the heavy candlestick holders off the table like they were made for me.

I throw them without thinking. Metal flashes.

Two bodies drop mid-stride-both strikes landing perfectly between their eyes.

The third doesn’t fall.

She’s a woman, and she smiles like she’s already won.

“I’ve been waiting for you,” she purrs, then hisses through the last syllables. “My king will reward me for delivering you.”

Half vampire. Half mermaid. A nightmare stitched together.

“Shame,” I tell her, letting my claws slide free. “You won’t live long enough to collect.”

We rush each other.

Her nails are out, ready to latch and shred. My claws cut for the kill.

We pass just barely-almost a miss.

Almost.

My claws rake deep up the side of her torso.

She screams and clamps a hand over the wound, staggering. “Ahhhh! You bloody bitch!”

Then the flesh starts knitting.

Instantly.

I’ve never watched someone heal that fast.

I let out a slow breath. Great. She’s going to cost me more energy than I feel like

spending. “Alright then, Omni-Wolf,” I mutter. “Let’s play.”

She freezes.

Her eyes drop to her stomach like her body has suddenly forgotten how to stand.

Beatrix has come up behind her.

There’s a hole in the woman’s abdomen-Beatrix-sized, clean through. I can see straight

through her like she’s made of broken glass.

Before the healing can catch up, Beatrix takes her head.

No regeneration without that.

“Thanks,” I say, grinning.

Beatrix only nods once, already moving.

We fall in behind Ryder as he pushes toward the stairs.

The place is wrecked-bodies everywhere, and not ours. Arms draped over banisters.

Blood on walls. Someone collapsed across an end table like a grotesque centerpiece.

I glance up.

A corpse hangs from the chandelier, swaying slightly with the air currents like it’s part of

the decor.

I quicken my pace and tuck in behind Ryder.

His wolf huffs-big, brutal breaths-then throws his head back and roars.

Down the hall, beyond the light, I see him.

I don’t need an introduction.

Orion stands in the dark like he belongs there, still as midnight itself. Around him, his

warriors are dropping one by one.

‘Finally,’ his voice slides into my head, slick and intimate. ‘My mate has found me. Come,

sweet thing. I’ll show you the way.’

Siren abilities.

And gods, he’s strong.

The power in him is undeniable-thick, oppressive, the kind that dares the world to

challenge it.

If he weren’t rotten to the core, I might have respected what he’s built. This town-

beautiful bones under all this violence.

After I kill him, I will restore it. I will return it to what it should have been.

‘Save your charm, Orion,’ I fire back. ‘I’m here to end you.’

His laugh brushes my mind. ‘You think you can put me down when I hold so much

power? When I hold so much of what you love? I have it.’

He turns and starts walking away from me-slow, deliberate-like he expects me to

follow.

I charge.

The doorway opens into what looks like a bedroom. Of course it does. Of course he’d try

His hair is ocean-colored, dark and shifting. His eyes are ice-cold enough to make you

feel small.

There’s no warmth in him.

No heart.

Only hate.

Maybe vengeance too, though I still don’t know what he thinks he’s owed.

Ryder is right behind me when the door slams.

Hard.

The sound cracks through the room and seals like a tomb.

I pivot toward it-

-and Orion is suddenly at my side.

He pins me to the wall in one violent motion, forearm across my throat, long fingers.

tightening around my neck.

Beyond the wood, Ryder and the others hit the door, trying to break it down.

‘You will be mine,’ Orion breathes into my ear. ‘Easy… or painful.’

He drags his tongue up the side of my neck-the side opposite Ryder’s mark-as if he’s

claiming real estate.

The room narrows.

His grip squeezes.

My head starts to float, vision dimming at the edges.

I push my palms into his chest, buying seconds, buying space, buying anything.

Then I hear my heartbeat-too loud, too slow.

Mystique rises inside me.

‘Let me take control,’ my wolf demands. ‘We fight.’

My hand flashes up, claws out-Mystique’s fury guiding it-and I rake Orion’s face.

Deep.

The slash runs from near his left eye down toward his right cheek.

Blood pours.

“Stupid bitch!” he snarls aloud.

He backhands me.

My body slams into the wall with a crack that rattles the room.

And in the same instant-

The door finally gives.

Wood splinters.

Orion yanks me toward the terrace, dragging me as a shield, his hand locked on my

throat.

Talon is in control of Ryder now. Ryder’s wolf form is ready to launch, muscles coiled,

rage rolling off him in waves.

“You will let me leave,” Talon says, voice low and lethal. “With my mate.”

Orion, bleeding, smiles anyway.

He licks my face.

Talon sees red.

“Tell him to stop,” Orion says-only to me.

My body trembles. The calm in Orion is wrong. We’ve surrounded him, and he’s still

composed.

His fingers tighten until breathing becomes a struggle.

“Alpha Ryder,” Orion continues, voice conversational. “I think we can negotiate. You’ve

had your turn with her. Now it’s mine.”

My stomach drops.

He tilts his head. “Trade, then. Your children… for your mate.”

A portal opens.

In the shimmering window, two of his warriors hold knives to my babies.

“No!” Ryder roars.

Montgomery clamps onto him, holding him back with Connor and Patrick.

“My babies-no!” My voice cracks. “Please!”

The sound of them screaming shreds through me.

It hurts-deep, spiritual pain, like someone has grabbed my soul and twisted.

‘Focus,’ Montgomery pushes through the link, forceful and steady. ‘Focus, Bridget. Feel

your babies.’

My eyes blur with tears. Everything is shaking, but I try.

Ryder is half-shifted now-human and wolf battling under his skin-snarling, shaking,

held in place by the others.

I draw a breath that barely fits through Orion’s grip and lock onto my children.

Their fear hits me like fire.

I scream-one raw sound-as if I can rip the distance apart.

Then something changes.

An eerie stillness drops over me, cold and clear.

I know.

Those aren’t my babies.

The images are wrong.

No one outside our pack has seen them. Orion guessed. He tried to build a weapon out

of imagination, but he didn’t get the details right.

I move.

I lean in and whisper into his ear, my mouth close enough that my words feel like a

blade. “Don’t ever fuck with my children.”

My claws extend.

I drive them into his chest and rip.

Ribs tear apart as he screams, sound turning animal.

Ryder breaks free-pure violence-and rams his claws into Orion’s opened chest cavity.

He shreds whatever he can reach.

Organs. Tissue. Everything.

He pulls pieces out like he’s dismantling a monster.

Orion’s screams fill the hall.

I grab Orion’s jaw-lower and upper-and wrench.

Hard.

I keep pulling until there’s a sickening pop.

He collapses in a heap on the floor, nothing regal left in him. Nothing powerful.

Just waste.

Ryder is on me instantly, hands on my arms, my shoulders, my face-searching for

damage.

“I’m fine,” I manage, voice returning now that my throat is free.

“The twins?” He looks wildly for the portal, for proof.

“It wasn’t them,” I tell him, steadying. “No one but our pack has seen them. He didn’t get

the images right. Montgomery made me focus-so I could know.”

Montgomery’s mouth curves into a small smile.

Strength. Wisdom. The kind that holds when everything else snaps.

He will make a hell of a mate-whenever he finally pulls his head out of his ass.

The ride home drains me.

Only once we’re away do I realize how far I pushed myself the moment he threatened

my babies. If I’d wanted to waste time there, I could have made Orion’s death last.

But I didn’t.

I stretch across Ryder’s lap, my legs under a blanket, exhaustion heavy in my bones.

I have spoken to Luna Kendra four separate times, just to hear her say it again—just to

watch her confirm it again-that my babies are safe.

They’re asleep.

Evelyn and Adrian are standing guard for me.

Ryder runs his hand over my legs beneath the blanket, soothing, steady, lulling me

toward real rest.

This new territory I’ve claimed sits in my mind like an unanswered question.

I don’t know yet what I’m going to do with it.

I do know I want it better than what it was.

It needs leadership-someone to rule it—and I haven’t met that person.

Not yet.

But when the time comes, I will know.

“Well, welcome back, Luna Bridget and Alpha Ryder,” Dr. Kira says as she steps into her

office.

Ryder and I have already been waiting.

Of course my mate insisted on every test possible. He wants me cleared.
