She shot a glare at Nathan. "What's it going to be? Do you need me to call Harrison and Penelope down here so we can all enjoy the show?"

The woman started fake crying. "Mr. Langford~"

Nathan's expression turned murderous. He viciously grabbed Claire's wrist, squeezing so hard it felt like he was going to crush her bones.

"Don't you dare!"

He spat on the ground and yanked the model away in sheer annoyance. "Forget it. Go back to your room. What a buzzkill."

Claire's eyes darkened. As long as the contract with Medari Global wasn't jeopardized, she didn't care.

She rubbed her wrist. Nathan had left an ugly ring of bruising on her skin. She would have to cover it up with foundation tomorrow.

Miles stepped out from the opposite side of the trellis. There was no telling how long he had been standing there watching.

Claire looked up, meeting his mocking, merciless gaze.

"Married couples?" Miles repeated through gritted teeth, rolling the words around playfully.

"Then I'd really love to tell Harrison and Penelope just how wild you two play behind closed doors."

Claire was hit right where it hurt.

She panicked. "Miles, is this really fun for you? Threatening people like this? You're unbelievable!"

She turned around furiously to storm off.

Miles surged forward, blocking her path.

"You just have to be with a piece of trash like that? Are those few years of college romance so precious that you can't bear to let him go?"

"My business has nothing to do with you."

He let out a dark, furious laugh. "Fine. I won't interfere. But right now, I'm incredibly pissed off."

Before she could even process his words, he swept her entirely off her feet, giving her absolutely no chance to fight back.
