Thinking about this, Lawrence looked at Stella with an increasingly dangerous glint in his eyes.
Stella pulled out a nail file.
She casually filed her nails, utterly unbothered. "What did they offer you?"
Lawrence froze.
His expression stiffened immediately.
The room fell dead silent.
Stella's eyes narrowed slightly. "Not going to talk? Do you want Asher to teach you how to speak again?"
This was the brutal reality of dealing with Stella.
There were some things she was willing to investigate patiently, but for other things, she had zero tolerance for waiting.
Hearing her tone drop to a freezing temperature, Lawrence felt a chill run down his spine.
Even though he had dealt with all sorts of cutthroat businessmen and shady characters over the years, he was still completely overpowered by her presence.
She hadn't just reverted to who she was three years ago.
She was worse.
Three years ago, her arrogance stemmed from the backing of Old Mr. and Mrs. Channing, as well as Sebastian.
But now... she was just purely, unhinged.
Lawrence clenched his jaw, forcing down his rage. "Twenty million dollars, as long as I help them smuggle you out of the city."
So what if he told her? That guy was tied to the European underworld. She wasn't getting out of this alive anyway.
Stella scoffed. "Twenty million dollars? Ha. I had no idea I was worth so much."
Twenty million.
It seemed Nathaniel's grudge against Sebastian was deep if he was willing to drop twenty million just to capture her.
"And how exactly were you planning to help them smuggle me out?"
"As your family member, I'd say you were going abroad for severe medical treatment."
Stella raised an eyebrow.
Family member. What a great family member.
Ha.
So the Sinclairs really were utterly devoid of humanity. That meant she didn't need to treat them like humans either.
About half an hour later.
Danie knocked on the door. Asher put away his weapon and unlocked the heavy doors.
When Danie walked in and saw the bruises on Lawrence's face, she was stunned. She shot Stella a furious glare.
Seeing Stella lazily filing her nails only made her angrier.
"What is it?"
Lawrence coldly interrupted her thoughts.
