When Lawrence didn't react, Stella leaned back in her chair, lazily propping her chin on her hand.
"What, do I need to teach you how to do your job too?"
Lawrence gritted his teeth. "Do you even know who you're dealing with?"
"Oh, so you do know who they are? Then why did you have the nerve to ask me here yesterday?"
Lawrence fell completely silent.
She definitely knew.
How had he never noticed she had these kinds of skills during her three years with the Sinclair family?
She was so pathetic back then. Just looking at her used to piss him off.
Now, looking at her still pissed him off.
"Asher."
"Yes, Ms. Channing," Asher said, turning around and stepping forward.
Stella said casually, "Teach Mr. Sinclair how to make a phone call."
Lawrence froze.
"Right away."
Asher nodded and reached directly for his waist.
When Lawrence saw what Asher suddenly produced in his hand, the color drained from his face entirely.
"You... Stella, are you out of your mind? Do you know where you are—"
"What are you doing? How can you play with toys like that in front of Mr. Sinclair?"
Stella looked over at Asher.
The word 'toys' was delivered with a playful, mocking reprimand.
Asher replied smoothly, "I just wanted to help Mr. Sinclair learn how to dial a little faster. This method gets results."
Lawrence stared in horror.
She had lost it. This woman had completely lost her mind.
She actually dared to...
Stella turned her attention back to Lawrence. "Mr. Sinclair, do you still need a lesson?"
Lawrence couldn't speak.
He looked at Stella, his breathing ragged, and then glanced at the... toy... in Asher's hand.
Finally, he clamped his jaw shut and picked up his phone.
His hand was shaking so badly he could barely hold it straight.
Watching him tremble like a leaf, Stella smiled warmly. "Don't shake. It's just a toy. Don't be scared, Mr. Sinclair."
Her smile was incredibly sweet, and her tone was almost comforting.
But after the brutal beating he had just taken, Lawrence fully understood the absolute malice lurking behind Stella's angelic face.
