Three years ago, marrying Julian meant stomping the Vance family's pride into the dirt. Now, divorcing Julian to run off with an older billionaire was an entirely new insult.
The Sinclairs couldn't touch her, but what about the Vances?
Danie immediately understood his strategy and nodded. "Yes, I'll get it done right away!"
In the elevator.
Stella looked over at Asher. "Am I terrifying?"
Asher was speechless.
What kind of question was that?
Before he could formulate a response, Stella continued, "Did you see Lawrence cowering back there?"
He was Julian's brother, after all.
She used to think that since Lawrence had successfully managed the Sinclair Group for a few years, he was somehow better than a useless coward like Julian.
But seeing him today, it was obvious it was all an act.
For years, Lawrence had played the part of a refined, composed executive in both the company and his family.
But underneath it all, he was just a spineless coward.
Asher's mouth twitched. "No matter how bold someone is, nobody dares to disagree with your 'logic.'"
Stella fell silent.
Her logic!
"So, I am terrifying, aren't I? And here I thought I was smiling so gently."
Asher was screaming internally.
Yes, a gentle smile that made people's blood run cold.
After spending the past couple of days at Stella's side, Asher had learned one undeniable truth.
When she wasn't smiling, it was manageable.
But the moment she smiled, her enemies were doomed.
...
The second the elevator doors opened!
Stella was ambushed by Julian, who had rushed back upon hearing the news.
His face twisted into a dark scowl the moment he saw her. "Did you hire that excavator to dig up Rainey's cryo-chamber? How could you be so vicious? She's dead, and you still won't let her rest!"
He practically screamed the last sentence in sheer hysteria.
Nobody knew how much rage had consumed him when he received that phone call halfway to his destination.
He wanted to rip Stella to shreds!
How could she...?
That was his only remaining solace. The Fitzgeralds had promised to preserve Rainey's body indefinitely.
"How could you!"
