All the pieces were falling into place!
Stella twirled a lock of hair around her finger. "Did you find the high monk I asked about?"
"I did," Asher replied.
Once he realized Beatrice was traveling to such a remote village, Asher had fully accepted that Stella's personality shift was the result of something unnatural.
He had immediately accelerated his search for the monk.
So it was Beatrice who had orchestrated the nightmare she lived through at the Sinclair house!
And now she was back in that region...
Neither Stella nor Asher explicitly discussed her three years of 'Spiritual Amnesia,' but their unspoken synergy was flawless.
"Actually, we might not even need him," Stella mused.
Asher wasn't the only one in perfect sync with her. Sebastian... had known all along!
Otherwise, he wouldn't have become so devoted to his Buddhist practices.
The monk he consulted over there, Master Lucius, was incredibly powerful.
Aside from warning her against 'harboring murderous intent,' he had given her one other cryptic piece of advice.
'Show no mercy to a June child!'
June...
What a coincidence. That disgusting ex-husband of hers was born in June.
So her three years of mind-controlled subservience were directly tied to Julian's birthday?
That explained why Beatrice was so frantic to get her back into the Sinclair household!
On the surface, she played the perfect, concerned stepmother.
She even went to Vivienne to apologize on her behalf, claiming she was trying to secure forgiveness for Stella!
Stella's lips curled into a sinister smirk...
"But I still want to meet the monk."
"I'll arrange it," Asher said.
"What about Rainey?"
"The Fitzgeralds retrieved her, but the excavator was a bit rough."
"How rough?"
"It severed one of her legs..."
"Keep a close eye on the Fitzgeralds!" Stella ordered.
Beatrice was consulting a dark shaman, Rainey was cryogenically frozen right next to her grandparents' graves, and Julian was a 'June child'!
This was far too coordinated to be a coincidence.
They had teamed up to ruin her life? Fine. She was going to give them a nightmare they would never wake up from.
"I've had men tailing them since the moment they moved Rainey," Asher confirmed.
Stella fell silent.
Her grandfather had truly left her an exceptional operative.
Half the time, she didn't even need to give an order; he was already three steps ahead.
"Compile a list of every active project the Fitzgerald family has."
"Are you planning to...?"
"I'm going to burn them all to the ground!"
Asher was stunned.
She was dragging the Fitzgeralds into the crossfire too?
"Are you sure you can handle that?" he asked hesitantly.
Taking on the Sinclairs, the Channings, and the Fitzgeralds all at once was going to be pure chaos.
"I'm just taking out the trash. How hard could it be?"
Asher remained silent.
Well...
Wilder certainly wasn't 'trash'!
But then again, Sebastian was back. There really wasn't anything to worry about.
