She even felt a spike of pure panic!
What... what did Stella mean? Did she know?
No, impossible!
There was no way she could know she was in Thailand, let alone that she had gone to Montrose Village.
So where was this 'plots against me' coming from?
"You... you stop making wild accusations! No one here would dare plot against you!" Beatrice said, forcing a stubborn tone.
Stella laughed dryly. "Whether you'd dare or not isn't my concern! But I do know this: now that you're broke, you definitely can't afford to plot against me."
After all, money makes the world go round! Without it, you couldn't command a soul, living or dead.
Stella hung up without another word.
A second later, Beatrice called back.
Stella immediately blocked the number!
Shortly after, Vincent called. The bank accounts for their family of four were now entirely frozen.

Stella answered the phone. "Mr. Channing."

Stella sighed. "I went through the trouble of freezing them. Do you really think yelling at me is going to magically unfreeze them?"
"Stella Channing!" Vincent roared, completely losing his temper. "How are we supposed to survive?"
What she did was no different from bankrupting them on the spot.
"Are you trying to drive us to our graves?!" Vincent bellowed before she could respond.
Stella's tone was deadpan. "Whether you live or die has nothing to do with me. Stop blaming me."
Vincent stammered, "You..."
"When Grandma and Grandpa were alive, you were dirt poor, and you didn't die then, did you?"
"In their final years, they didn't give you a single red cent!"
Bringing up the elders' ruthlessness toward the end of their lives made Vincent's chest heave with rage.
"You have the nerve to bring that up!" Vincent snapped, his blood boiling at the mention of 'not a single red cent.'
Initially, they were given ten thousand dollars a month for living expenses. But toward the end, thanks to Stella's constant meddling, they were cut down to a measly five hundred!
Five hundred dollars wasn't even enough to feed a family of four, let alone cover Valerie and Xander's extracurricular activities.
Furious, he had gone to confront the old lady...
