Bash, Elder Vance... they all knew the person inside her body might not have been her!
"What did Grandpa say to you?" Sebastian asked.
"He said he had three people stationed at the Sinclair estate guarding me 24/7 these past three years."
Sebastian raised an eyebrow at that.
Stella leaned tiredly into his embrace, pressing against the area closest to his tattoo, feeling an immense sense of security.
When that parasitic spirit hijacked her body and degraded herself, Elder Vance and Sebastian's men couldn't intervene.
But if Julian had dared to touch her, those men would have ended him in a heartbeat!
Sebastian, Elder Vance—anyone from either side would have butchered him until not even dust remained.
"So you all saw that something was terribly wrong with me."
Sebastian rubbed her head gently but said nothing.
How could they not see it? The difference was too staggering, staggering enough to breed suspicion, and eventually, confirmation!
Stella tilted her head up.
Her soft lips brushed past his Adam's apple. The already intimate atmosphere shattered in an instant...
The next moment, the man pinned her down beneath him.
Stella's misty gaze landed on the dark mole on the bridge of his nose. By now, her small hands were already at the buttons of his tunic.
"Aren't you hot?"
The little thing asked in a soft, breathy voice.
She loved when he dressed like this—mature and steady, yet unable to conceal the sharp, predatory edge beneath.
Sebastian grabbed her hand, pinning it in his palm. "Wait until we get back."
Stella hummed softly, her hand tracing against his palm.
...
The next morning, Stella slept straight until ten o'clock.
When she woke up, her whole body felt soft and devoid of energy.
Sebastian had gone out early in the morning.
Stella genuinely couldn't understand how he had so much stamina. She could barely get out of bed.
Bzzzt, bzzzt, bzzzt. Her phone vibrated. It was Asher calling.
Stella answered, "What is it?"
"Beatrice signed the papers."
"Voluntarily?"
"Of course not!" Asher scoffed.
Now that all the bank accounts for their family of four were frozen, there was no way Beatrice would sign that easily.
With people like them, if they had even a shred of willingness, they wouldn't have delayed his early clock-out.
"The Sinclair family must have exploded last night too, right?" Stella asked.
"They did. Right now, everyone from both the Sinclair and Channing families is in the hospital."
