Stella got into the car and answered. "Mr. Channing, how are your preparations going?"
She was referring to the legal transfer of the company back to her.
Vincent's heavy, frantic breathing came through the line. "You ungrateful daughter! Have you completely lost your mind?"
"Tell me right now, where the hell did you take Xander?"
Listening to Vincent's utter panic, Stella raised a brow. "If you're calling to intimidate me, it seems you didn't take a single word of my warning last night seriously."
Vincent yelled, "Stella Channing! You willingly gave up your inheritance rights! What is the point of throwing this massive tantrum now?"
"The point is, I don't want to give them up anymore. Understand?"
Vincent was utterly speechless.
Hearing Stella say this, he was so furious he nearly passed out.
"You... you..."
Stella's voice dropped. "You don't have much time left. I suggest you move quickly. Understood?"
Even through the phone, Vincent could vividly picture the absolute madness in Stella's eyes right now.
His blood boiled, and a severe wave of dizziness hit him.
Stella continued smoothly, "Take a deep breath. If you get so worked up that you have a heart attack, Xander's situation might become very dangerous."
He could collapse and be rushed to the ER.
But her patience wouldn't wait for anyone.
Vincent stammered, "You... you...!"
"..."
"Come home. Let's talk about this!" He forced himself to take a deep breath, desperately trying to calm his racing heart.
However, the only response he got was the dial tone.
Stella hung up. She had absolutely zero interest in entertaining his nonsense.
Vincent slammed his hand on the table. "That ungrateful daughter! She's completely insane!"
He had sent people out all night to search for Xander, but hadn't heard a single word back. It was obvious they hadn't found him.
Beatrice's eyes were swollen from crying.
Seeing how ruthless Stella was being, her voice choked with sobs. "I know she's never liked us, but I truly always treated her like my own flesh and blood. I always wanted to be close to her."
