The One I Should've Married (Stella and Sebastian) novel Chapter 71

The city.

Vivienne and Julian Sinclair had no idea how they managed to stumble out of the Sinclair main house.

The two of them were now huddled in an abandoned guest house, situated far from the main estate, terrified to go anywhere closer!

Because it had been vacant for years, the place was unkempt and messy.

Julian sprawled across the dusty sofa, gasping for air as pain racked his body.

Vivienne looked at his bruised and bloodied back, her tears falling as her heart ached. "Your grandfather is too cruel. This is all that bitch Stella Channing's fault!"

She never imagined that a simple divorce would trigger such catastrophic consequences.

The thought of Arthur mentioning that their corporate projects in the city were failing made her heart race with panic.

She knew all too well what a collapsed city project meant for the Sinclair family.

She never wanted to relive those days from three years ago when they were on the brink of bankruptcy!

Damn that Stella. She used to be nothing more than a servant who cooked and waited on them.

How could divorcing her have such a massive impact on the family?

And now it had dragged her precious Julian down, leaving him beaten half to death!

Cold sweat beaded on Julian's forehead as agony flared through him. "Don't touch me, it hurts!!"

He was in so much pain he could barely breathe, lacking any energy to move.

Surrounded by the sharp metallic scent of his own blood, he felt like he would die if he so much as twitched.

Hearing his groans, Vivienne felt a mix of heartbreak and fury. "That damn Stella, why won't she just die! She's out of the family, yet she still won't give us a moment of peace."

Not mentioning Stella would have been better.

At the sound of her name, Julian's face turned deathly pale!

"Grandfather actually wants me to go and invite her back! He expects me to beg her—who the hell does she think she is?"

He was furious!

It was his grandmother who agreed to the divorce, yet he was the one who returned to a brutal beating.

He had finally managed to shake off that woman, and now he was expected to coax her back!

The thought alone made Julian so angry he could barely catch his breath.

Vivienne was equally livid hearing this!
