The One I Should've Married (Stella and Sebastian) novel Chapter 82

Quick, clean, and completely devoid of nonsense.

"No!"

Hearing this, panic completely seized Valerie.

He knew exactly how vicious Asher's methods were when he worked for the old patriarch. He knew perfectly well how ruthless this man was.

He said he was going to take his hands and legs!

Valerie didn't doubt for a second that he meant it.

Ignoring Valerie's desperate begging entirely, Asher lifted his foot off his back.

He took two steps backward and raised his hand. "Do it."

The two men in black suits waiting behind him immediately stepped forward.

When Valerie saw the gleaming metal in their hands, his face twisted in sheer, unadulterated horror.

Just moments ago, he had been arrogantly ordering his thugs to destroy Stella.

Now, he was scrambling backward on his hands and knees like a pathetic dog. "No, stay away! You can't do this to me, you..."

He barely made it a few feet before one of the men pinned him down.

The other man stepped forward with a vicious expression, raising the blade high.

"Ah—" Valerie screamed.

Leaning against the car, Asher lit a cigarette, his expression completely blank.

He took a drag, pulled out his phone, recorded a quick video, and sent it straight to Stella.

...

Over in T Country.

Stella and Sebastian were already aboard the private jet heading back to the city. Takeoff was in thirty minutes.

The entire ride from the temple to the plane had been quiet.

Stella's mind was echoing with the old monk's parting words: "Every life has its hardships. Do not easily invite the desire to kill!"

The way he phrased it...!

It made it sound like she had actually murdered someone.

Her phone buzzed.

It was a video from Asher. Seeing him completely butcher Valerie's hand without hesitation, Stella's brow twitched.

Technically... she wasn't taking a life, right?

The burning warmth of a large palm covering her hand pulled her out of her thoughts.

"Bash."

She felt a wave of relief.

Her tone toward him softened considerably.

Especially after witnessing his absolute devotion at the temple, Stella realized the only reason he stayed away for three years was because he knew someone else was in her body.

All the lingering resentment she held toward him completely dissolved.

The man's sharp features remained tense, his eyes radiating a terrifying intensity. "Why didn't you just kill him?"

He was talking about Valerie.

Moments ago, Kellen had informed him that Valerie set the fire specifically to burn Stella alive.

And all Stella asked for was one hand!
