The One I Should've Married (Stella and Sebastian) novel Chapter 83

Stella hadn't slept well the night before.

After talking with Sebastian for a bit, she leaned against his shoulder and drifted into a deep sleep.

To make her more comfortable, Sebastian gently shifted her so her head rested on his lap.

When Kellen walked in to drop off some files, he froze.

He saw Stella's head resting on Sebastian's lap, covered by the man's black wool jacket.

The tender, quiet scene was something no one would dare interrupt.

Kellen instinctively turned to leave.

But Sebastian spoke up. "Are the overseas projects the only things failing for the Sinclairs right now?"

"Yes."

Kellen nodded.

Honestly, the Sinclairs were completely shameless. Three years ago, they survived bankruptcy solely because of Stella.

And how did they repay her? By treating her like a slave for three entire years!

It was bizarre, though...

Given how fiery her personality was, how did she manage to endure it for so long?

Was she actually possessed?

To be fair, the Boss had become incredibly religious over these last three years, and Kellen was starting to believe in it too.

Hearing Kellen's confirmation, Sebastian looked down at the messy-haired girl sleeping on his lap.

His voice turned ice-cold. "Three years of good days. It's time they came to an end."

"Understood!"

Having followed Sebastian for years, Kellen didn't need it spelled out to know exactly what he meant.

The Sinclairs enjoyed three years of prosperity purely because of Stella.

Now that she had kicked them to the curb, they needed to be thrown right back to the gutter where they belonged!

He turned to make the arrangements.

But remembering something, he looked back at Sebastian. "Boss, what about our people planted inside the Sinclair estate? Should we pull them out?"

They had quite a few operatives embedded in the house.

It was incredibly lucky that Julian had no interest in Stella over the years. If he had even tried, he would have been turned into ash long ago.

Three years ago, Stella had threatened Sebastian with her own life just to marry that useless coward.

Sebastian had no choice but to let her go!

He allowed her to marry the bastard, but he never intended to let Julian touch her.
