The Pack's Hacker (by Cooper) novel Chapter 32

Wendy

I was so nervous to meet Jude’s family. If his family is as important to him as my family is to me, then I know it means everything to him that they like me. While I appreciate his confidence that they will, I’m not willing to risk them getting a bad impression of me on our first meeting. After a graduation ceremony, spending hours in the Academy’s hospital, getting four hours of sleep, and then having a five-hour flight, I wasn’t going to meet his family looking like something the wolf dragged home.

The moment we stepped out of the security area, I saw a family of blond-headed people. Unlike my family that is a cross between my father’s dark hair and my mother’s lighter brown hair, everyone in Jude’s family is blonde. Some are darker blond than others, but they all have blond hair and they are all very tan.

“JUDE!”

A younger version of my boyfriend throws herself into Jude’s arms, very much like Yvonne does to my brothers and Quirin.

I only have a minute to smile at them before his mother gets my attention. Jude immediately sets his sister down and comes to introduce me.

The moment she pulls me into a hug, I feel right at home. I don’t hesitate. I wrap my arms around her, hugging her just like I would hug my mother.

“Oh, you’re right, Jude! She is a hugger,” I hear one of his sisters exclaim.

“Trust me, Luna Yara is as much a hugger as mom is,” he says as his mother releases me.

From there, I’m passed from one sister to another before stopping in front of Dane.

“You must be Alpha Dane,” I say, extending my hand.

He looks at my hand, then at Jude. “I like her.”

Then he takes my hand and pulls me into a hug. He’s already as tall as Wade, which is just a bit taller than me.

When he releases me, I turn to Jude’s older brother. “Alpha Riley, Luna Courtney, it’s nice to meet you.”

Alpha Riley raises an eyebrow. “You already know our names?”

“She was grilling me on the plane,” Jude says, grinning when I shoot a glare at him.

“We don’t expect you to remember all our names, Alpha Wendy,” his father says. “It’s nice to meet you.”

“You as well, Alpha Sean.”

“Well, I think I understand what all the hype was about,” Luna Courtney says, smiling at me. “You certainly seem to fit in with this family.”

I smile as Jude wraps his arm around me. “She’s perfect. Just wait until you get to know her.”

“So, Jude says you received early acceptance at the Warrior Academy,” Alpha Sean says as we begin walking again.

“Yes, sir. I’ll begin taking classes in the fall.”

“But you’re already working with Jude and his team, right?” Isobel, the oldest, asks me.

“That’s right. They’ve been kind enough to start teaching me early. Although, I think it’s mostly to make sure I stay out of trouble.”

“You aren’t the troublesome one. Yana is,” Jude says.

“Who’s Yana?” Caitlin asks.

“My sister. She’s sixteen, just like you.”

“Oh my goddess! You know our ages too?” Kira asks.

“Well, it’s not that hard. I come from a large family. Although, my mother had two sets of twins.”

“Ask her about her older sister,” Jude says, as we walk up to the carousal where our luggage will come out.

Everyone turns to look at me.

“It’s not that exciting. Multiples run in my family and Kennedy was a twin. Even Connor, her twin and my father’s heir, has multiples with his mate.”

They all look at Jude, who just grins. “Ask her.”

I roll my eyes.

“Spill! How many pups does your sister have?” Isobel asks.

I sigh. “She’s pregnant with twins, which will give them twelve.”

“TWELVE!”

“It’s not as exciting as it sounds. She had quadruplets with her first pregnancy,” I tell them.

“Was that her only pregnancy with multiples?” his mother asks.

“Fisher? Why Fisher?”

“Phisher, with a PH, not an F, Kira,” Jude says from behind us.

“What’s a Phisher?” she asks again.

“Someone who digs around to get information. If they’re a good scammer, then pretend to be someone trustworthy or someone you know, but it’s all to gain information. Yana has been trying to break through our firewalls, so Hijack named her Phisher.”

“I want a cool name!” Kira says.

I laugh. “Yana hates the name Phisher. She said she wants something cooler than that, but Hijack is insistent on giving her that name, at least for now.”

“So, you come from a family of high achievers, is that right, Wendy?” his mother asks me.

“My family is amazing, Luna. My father survived through a terrible time of pack wars, keeping our pack intact, and he’s now about to take a position as part of The Council in our part of the country. My mother, as you said, is a renowned doctor who has been hired by the Council to work at the Academy to teach a new generation of doctors and to treat our elite squad members. My brother Connor is an incredible Alpha. My sister, Kennedy, is following in my mother’s footsteps, and according to my mother, will probably surpass her, although I’m not sure how that’s possible. My brother, Yorick, would most likely have made Alpha Squad if he and his mate hadn’t had an unexpected pup. So instead, he’s on C-Squad. Then there’s me, and after me, there’s Yana, who is already trying to make a name for herself so she can get early acceptance into the Warrior Academy to be part of the Tech Team, too.”

“Are there any more like you back home?” Alpha Riley asks, raising an eyebrow.

“Well, Yvonne and Wade are only fourteen, like Dane. Although Yvonne has been petitioning Quirin to become his Gamma for nearly a year now.”

They stop at an SUV and every one of them looks from me to Jude.

“I told you she was amazing,” he says, grinning as he tosses our luggage into the back of the SUV.

I shrug. “They’re my family. I’m sure all of you are amazing as well. According to Jude, you’re family is just like mine, so you must be.” j-o-b-n-ib;c;om

“I’m not sure we’re THAT amazing,” Alpha Sean says.

“Well, you produced the most incredible man I’ve ever met, so you’re pretty amazing in my eyes,” I say, smiling at Jude.

“Damn,” I hear Luna Courtney say softly. “I think I understand why your brother brought her home to meet us. She’s as close to perfect as you’re going to get.”

I’m ready to tell her that he’s the perfect one, when he walks up to me and kisses me in front of his family. I blush, but just like always, I lose myself in Jude’s kiss. 1

When he pulls away from the kiss, I swear I hear chuckling and snickering, but I can’t focus enough to know for sure.

“Come on, let’s go to Riley’s pack and get some lunch. I’m starved,” he says.
