The Pack's Luna: The Pack Series Book 4 novel Chapter 371

Piper

After saying goodbye to Henry Monday morning, I walked into sparring class. When Alpha Michael called me to spar with Megan, I corrected him on my title.

“I’m Luna Piper now, Alpha,”

“I said.

Megan looked at me, raising an eyebrow. “You’d rather be a Luna than an Alpha?”

“I am prouder to be Henry’s Luna than I ever was to be my father’s daughter,” I say.

“Fair enough,” she said.

She and I are both tough competitors. Now that she’s become competitive in all the right ways, she’s actually enjoyable to be around. She and I are well matched, and we fight hard, but we still help each other.

On Tuesday, I get an invitation to attend Yorick and Cyra’s graduation party.

“You’re having a party?” I ask, watching as Zach and Chase open their invitations too.

“We have a lot to celebrate. And I found out my cousin, Sadique, was accepted to the Academy. She’s going to be there so I’d like it if you guys could spend some time with her and get her excited about coming here next year,” Cyra says.”What’s not to be excited about? Any idea what area sh applied for? Is she a techy, a new medical student, or maybe another warrior?” Zach asks.

“When you meet her, you can ask her,” Cyra says, grinning.

“I can’t wait to give her a nickname,” he says, grinning and rubbing his hands together. “Maybe she’ll be the Athena to your Aphrodite.”

I laugh my friends so much. If I have to be away from Henry, at least I have them to help me make the days go by faster.

“Any news on your dad, brother, or the squads taking you on rotation?” Chase asks me.

“I haven’t received a summons yet for court. The last time I talked to Hacker, he and the team were still trying to pin the murder charges on both my father and brother, and trying to see if my brother Gage was involved at all. I’m not sure if they’ll have court for the first charges or wait for the murder charges. Either way, I’m hoping my father and brother go away for a very long time.”

“When does Vivienne go out?” Landon asks.

“Next week. She’s staying this weekend so that she and Gavin can talk. He’s having a hard time, but I hear that your mother is doing wonders for him,” I say to Yorick.

“My mother is good at that. And speaking of my mother, she and dad have decided to accept the positions thatthey’ve been offered. She’s going to take the Medical Director position here for the new doctoral school and dad is going to take Councilman Edward’s position on the council so he can retire. Once Nicolette is stable, they’ll be coming back over here to look at the design of the top floor of the medical center. Apparently, they’re going to build what amounts to an Alpha floor so my brother and sisters will have yet another place to stay.”

“Does it bother them? Moving around to all the different packs?” I ask.

“Not really. Maybe because every pack has family leading the packs, but it doesn’t seem to bother them at all. Wade and Yvonne spend most of their time in Quirin’s and Connor’s packs, while Wendy and now Yana spend most weekends in our pack so they can see Hacker and talk about tech stuff.”

“It’s a good thing your family is so close,” Lila says. “Not all families would allow their younger siblings to live with them like you do or your brother and Alpha Quirin do.”

“The Hills are special,” Cyra says, smiling at Yorick.

“So are the Teymoori-Hills,” he says, leaning over to kiss her.

Watching them, it makes my heart ache for my mate. He’s right, the Monday morning to Wednesday afternoon is too long.

So, when my mate arrives Wednesday afternoon, waitingfor me outside the dormitories like he always does, 1 race into his arms, leaping into his embrace as he walks me to my room.

“ordered food for seven o’clock,” I say, forcing mouth away from his as he fumbles with the lock on my door.

He looks at his watch. “Two and a half hours isn’t nearly enough time for me to make you scream and quiver, but it will do. Then we’ll eat and start over,” he growls.

Over dinner we talk about Gavin, then much, much later in the night, we talk about Nicolette and how Dallas is doing with her not accepting the mate bond

I finally fall asleep in my mate’s arms, only to be awakened by him sliding inside me and making my body hum with pleasure again before we needed to start getting ready for the day.

As we walk to the cafeteria for breakfast, Alpha Michael approaches us.

“Luna Piper,” he begins.

“Luna?” Henry asks.

Alpha Michael smiles at him. “Your mate asked us to address her as Luna, not Alpha.”

Tyrus growls happily, but Henry cuts it off.

“Why, Piper? You are an Alpha, you should be addressed as such,” he says.I smile, leaning against my mate. It’s just another reason why being his Luna is so much better than being born an Aipha.

“Like I told the others, I’m prouder of being your Luna than I am of being my father’s daughter.”

“You coutdn’t have told me this last night when we were alone?” he growls, making me smile.

“We can celebrate again tomorrow night,” I tease.

“We definitely will.”

After dinner, Alpha Michael finds me and takes me to an area where the instructors have their offices. There’s a centralized area where we can meet and when we walk in Raptor, Javelin, and Saber are already there.

“Alpha Piper,” Saber says warmly.

“It’s Luna Piper now. Henry and I have marked each other,” I tell her.

“And you’re okay with that?” Javelin asks me.

“Very much so,” I say, sitting at the table across from the three of them.

“Steel told us of your idea for rotating onto the elite teams when we need a replacement for someone on medical leave or maternity leave. I’ll admit, at first I was skeptical that we’d need such a thing. But being out in the field again has reminded me that even if we’re not in hand-to-hand combat, we still get injured. Whether it’s one day or a week, I can see the need to have a rotation with someone we trust and who would make our team complete while we hunt down those who have broken the law,” Raptor says.

He turns and looks at his companions. “I’m in agreement and since I was already looking at Hettfire to be on my squad, I have no problems with her being on rotation.”

” basically told Hellfire that I already agreed to the rotation. My squad is a bit easier to manage, since we don’t take on the difficult, undercover operations that your teams do, but we still need to fill in the gaps, especially when our team members go out on maternity leave,” Saber says.

“Thank you,” I say, turning to Javelin.

“I know Raptor wanted you for his squad, but l also wanted you on my squad. Beta squad can be just as difficult and demanding as Alpha Squad in our operations, so I need someone who is powerful, resilient, and trustworthy. From everything I’ve seen in youand from everything I’ve heard about you, I think you meet those criteria. So, I’m also in agreement,” she says.

I huge grin spreads across my face, one that I can’t stop.

“Really?” I ask.

“Really. Steel says you’re one of the top in your class.

That’s enough for me. Congratulations, Hellfire. You’renow the first official rotating elite team member,” Raptor says, standing and shaking my hand.

“Thank you! Thank you all so much!” I say, shaking all their hands, then turning to Alpha Michael. “And thank you, Alpha.”

“You’ve earned it, Luna,” he says

“After graduation, we’ll be in touch,” Javelin says.

“I’ll be ready,” I say, before walking out of the instructors area.

The moment the door closes behind me, I take off at a sprint. I can’t WAIT to tell Henry!
