The Pack's Luna: The Pack Series Book 4 novel Chapter 378

Henry

My mate has no idea that I needed her input on the training facility because I’ve already broken ground in our pack for hers. It will be my Luna gift to her and I can’t wait to see her excitement when she realizes she’s getting one of her own.

Since she, like Yorick, will need to stay in top shape, unless she’s pregnant with my pup, it will be good for her to have this same state-of-the-art facility at home. It won’t hurt to have it for our pack members to use either.

Having Piper train our warriors on the skills she’s learning and now having a facility where our warriors can train even harder than they do now, will potentially make us stronger than Quirin’s pack members. That makes me grin knowing he’ll end up building his own training facility when he realizes that our pack and Yorick and Cyra’s have the potential to be stronger than his. He probably would have thought of it eventually, anyway, knowing that his little hellions are going to be strong warriors when they get older.

The weekend with Piper is amazing, just like always. When we got back on Saturday, Piper went to check on Nicolette who had been released from the pack hospital earlier in the week. She and Philip had moved to the Beta floor. She isn’t staying in Dallas’ room, but she’s strong enough that she’s able to move around and get outside which will help her recover and hopefully help her wolf return. Piperspent some time with her, talking to her about the pack, and making sure she’s settled.

I already knew she was. Between Dallas, my mother, and Farrah, Nicolette has a lot of people looking out for her. l’ve kept tabs on her, but I haven’t hovered over her, letting the others do what’s needed.

I talked to Quirin about Gavin’s sparring and realized that I might have been going a bit too easy on him given

Quirin’s impressions of his abilities.

On Sunday, we waited for Gavin to return so Piper could talk to him about the court date.

“I want to go, Piper,” he said immediately. Since she knows my thoughts on this, I stayed quiet and let her decide.

She looked at me, then back at Gavin.

“Gage will most likely be there, Gavin.”

“But so will you and so will Vivienne, right?”

Im hoping Vivienne is there, but she’s leaving tomorrow.

That only gives her a couple of days before she has to be back.”

“Will you be there, Henry?” he asks me.

“Yes.”

He turns back to Piper. “Then I should be there too, Piper.

He’s my father. He needs to see that I know what he’s done.”

“And if he or Gage says horrible things to you…”

“I don’t care. I’ve made my choice,” he insists.

“Alright,” she concedes. “But you stay with me or Henry the entire time. I don’t trust Gage. If he can try to drag you away, he will.”

“Оkay.”

Since court is scheduled for Thursday, I let Dallas and Knox know that I’ll be staying at the Academy until Tuesday morning. I pack up my work, so I can get things done while Piper is in classes, then we head back to the Academy.

My time at the Academy is very productive. Since the cadets are in classes, it’s quiet and I have uninterrupted time to get my work done. I also have a chance to check out the Academy’s training facility and I make some minor modifications to the one I’m having built on our pack lands.

On Tuesday, I head back home, once again hating to leave my mate.

“Just a few more weeks, Henry. We’re getting close,” Piper says, kissing me goodbye.

“Time needs to fly a bit faster, Piper. I want you with me non-stop, or mostly non-stop. I’ve liked having so many days in a row with you.””I have too. And we still have a Luna ceremony coming up. soon.”

“Yes, a week and a half, then you’re all mine,” I say.

“I’m already all yours.

“Good answer,” I growl.

When I returned home, I checked on Gavin, Nicolette, and Philip. Now that Nicolette is in the packhouse, Dallas is getting back to work. I haven’t been around a lot, but when I am, I’ve noticed that Philip has become his shadow.

I’m not surprised that Dallas has taken to being a father.

He’s a good man and while Nicolette keeps telling Philip to leave him alone, he follow Dallas around everywhere.

For the two days I was home, I almost never saw Dallas without Philip on his back, holding his hand, or in his arms. I’ve also never seen my Beta look so happy.

“He’s getting to her,” Gamma Sissy said to me Wednesday afternoon when she caught me watching Dallas’ interactions with Philip.

“You think so?” I asked.

“A man who treats your pup like that is nearly impossible to resist. She’s been asking around, wondering if people think Philip is bothering Dallas or if he’s just pretending to put up with her son. jo_bn_ib.c_om Of course, we all know how amazing Beta Dallas is and since everyone in the pack is rooting for him, we’re all telling her how great he is.””Good. She deserves to be happy, and Philip is soaking up the attention like a dried-out sponge that was put in water. Beta Savannah said Nicolette is healing slowly, but well.”

“Yes. It’s a slow process, made slower because she suffered before the rejection. But we’ll get her healthy, Alpha. You just focus on our Luna and her brother.

Speaking of them, do we need to be worried about tomorrow’s court date?” she asks.

“No, he didn’t.”

“So, you don’t think my father is a real man or a good wolf?”

I hesitate before answering. However, I’ve sworn to always be honest with Gavin, so I tread lightly.”I’m probably not the right person to ask, since I’m mated to your sister, and he tried to sell her into a mate bönd with another wolf.”

“But that is what you think about my father, right?” he insists.

I sigh. “Yes. About your father and your brother Grady. I’m reserving judgment on Gage for now.”

“Do you think I’m a good man?” he asks.

I glance at him, seeing him watching me.

“I think life dealt you a crappy hand, Gavin. You lost your mother when you were too young to really remember her.

Your father is an asshole who has no respect for women.

You didn’t have good role models growing up, but somehow, you’re still making good decisions. Decisions that make me believe that you are not only a good man, but good wolf,” I tell him.

He smiles and looks back out the window again. Before he can ask any more questions, we arrive at the Academy.

Piper comes rushing out of the dorms with her bag on her shoulder. She races right into my arms, and I catch her, hugging her tightly against me, having missed her in the day and a half we’ve been apart.

After hugging her brother, we head to dinner before checking into the hotel. I got another suite so I could enjoy my mate and wear her out enough that she would sleepwithout disturbing Gavin.

The next morning, I ordered room service for breakfast, not surprised when neither my mate nor Gavin ate much.

It was quiet as we drove to the courthouse, and I could feel both of their nervousness through the bond and just being in their presence. I found out which courtroom we were going to be in and when we entered, the prosecuting attorney pulled Piper aside to talk to her about her recommendations if her father asked to be released today.

She’s just walked back over to me and Gavin when our family walks in.

“What is this? What is everyone doing here?” she asks as every Hill, their mates, and her friends from the Academy all walk into the courtroom.

“You’re family, Piper. I thought you knew that,” Quirin says, as Kennedy hugs her.

“And you know that this is how our family operates. We always support each other,” Alpha Warren says.

I feel the swell of emotion in my mate and Gavin as our family goes around, hugging them, and making sure, as they always do, that they know they’re not alone.
