The Paper Wife’s Empire novel Chapter 382

“You bitch!”

Brianna’s words hit a nerve. Flynn’s hand shot up, ready to strike her across the face.

But before it could land, his wrist was seized from behind.

He struggled, but the grip was like iron. When he twisted around, he saw it was Jotham.

Jotham was gaunt, the loose black t-shirt hanging off his bony frame. He’d lost too much weight in a short time, and exhaustion was etched into his features. His hair had grown longer, curling at his neck, and his expression was flat and distant, casting a gloomy, solitary shadow over him.

“Jotham, are you serious?” Flynn sneered, wincing in pain. “After everything this jinx has done to the family, you're still going to play the hero for her?”

Jotham’s cold gaze bore into him. With a vicious twist, a sharp, cracking pain shot through Flynn’s arm. He cried out, and the noise brought Eulalia rushing down the stairs.

“Brother! Stop it! What are you doing?” she pleaded, then turned to her husband. “Flynn, why are you provoking my brother again?”

Flynn howled in agony, and as soon as Eulalia appeared, he pointed a shaking finger at Brianna. “It’s not me! Look who’s here!”

Eulalia’s face hardened the moment she saw Brianna standing in the doorway.

“Brianna? You have the nerve to show your face here?”

Their family was already ruined from crossing Ramona, but then they’d been completely played for fools by this conniving woman. Her filthy schemes had pushed Ramona over the edge, and now the Holts had lost everything, without a shred of hope left.

Thinking of how she had once tried to be kind to Brianna, Eulalia wanted to slap herself.

But Brianna’s attention was fixed solely on Jotham. He only released Flynn when Eulalia arrived, punctuating the gesture with a sharp kick to Flynn’s shin. “Get out.”
