Olivia’s POV
The waiting was by far the worst part, but at the same time, we did not want anyone to see us kidnapping a man, not that anyone would say anything. The Phoenix Knights are both feared and respected around here. We were parked up outside his building, watching to make sure he was home. He was home.
I smiled up at Daniel, who had sat down next to me. He had glanced between the windows that we had all been watching, and me. I could tell he was worried about me being here. The moment darkness descended, Dad’s phone started ringing, he answered it straight away, “Prez.”
Dad fell silent listening to what was being said, and then he said, “Understood.”
He cut the call off, as the doors of the front SUV opened. “Prez and Dragon are leading the others into the
apartment building to grab him. We are waiting here, and keeping an eye on that fire escape. We have a
clearer view of that than they do.”
Mike handed an MP3 player and headphones to me, and said, “CB gave me this, and told me to give it to you. He said you would know what to do with it.”
I chuckled, “My hacker handle, and he had a discussion once about psychological warfare, and how fear can corrupt everything and bend those to your will. If this means what I think it does, then we are going to make him very, very afraid before you even start questioning him.”
I placed one of the earbuds in my ear, and hit play on the MP3 player. Only to hear the sound of constant ferocious barking from what sounded like several different dogs, all barking at once. I hit pause, as Daniel
asked, “What is on it?”
“John Jefferson’s phobia. The lovely sounds of several very angry sounding dogs,” I replied.
“Shall we place bets now on whether he will piss himself or not?” Atom said, he was the fifth member in
the car with us.
“Fifty bucks says he will,” Daniel smirked.

Dad was shaking his head. Mike bet he wouldn’t. Atom bet he would. Dad sighed, “Concentrate.”
That meant focusing on what we were meant to be doing, which was watching that fire escape. Not ten minutes after Prez and Dragon had entered the apartment building with three other Knights, they came out. They headed straight for the SUV. Daniel and Dad both jumped out, after slipping their masks on. N slipped mine on, and followed them. “What are you guys doing getting out of the car?” Prez asked, his
mask still on.
“CB gave us something that would scare him,” Dad replied, gesturing to John.
I stepped forward, as Dragon tied John’s hands and feet together. I placed the earbuds in John’s ears, and grabbed the tape, using it to cover his ears, trapping the earbuds in his ears. Then I hit play on the MP3
The 42
player and turned the volume up to full, before tucking it into his pocket. I smirked beneath the mask and
stepped back to stand beside Daniel. He took my hand and pulled me back to the SUV.
We climbed back into the SUVs, everyone was doing the same, now that John was in the trunk of the front
SUV. We sped off back in the direction of the clubhouse. Well, to an off–site warehouse that is pretty much
five minutes from the clubhouse, so if we ever needed back up, it would not be far away. This off–site
location was because the clubhouse is frequented a lot by the women and children of the club, and they
wanted to keep the dirty work away from the clubhouse.
When we got there, John was placed in a chair in the center of the warehouse. I narrowed my eyes, as I studied my surroundings. Dad placed his hand on my shoulder, and asked, “Are you doing okay?”
“I am fine, Gold,” I replied, knowing it was best not to call him Dad in front of this asshole in the chair.
Dad nodded, “Carnage, stay close to her.”
“Always, Gold,” Daniel said.
All the Knights were already setting things up, so that they could torture him if necessary. Daniel and I both stood to the side as he whispered, “You hold on to me, and do not let go. If you need to leave, you let me know, and I will take you out of here straight away.”
I nodded, “I promise, I will.”
Prez nodded to everyone in the room, to make sure we were ready, as John’s steady breathing began to increase exponentially. He was beginning to freak out. I chuckled quietly. Prez removed the bag from John’s head. John glanced around the room in a panic, unable to say anything thanks to the gag in his mouth. Prez pulled the tape and earbuds from John’s ears, and then the gag. “Hello there, John Jefferson. We have some questions for you that need to be answered.”
“How about you tell me who the fuck you are first?” John said, trying to show that he was not absolutely shitting himself.
“We are the Phoenix Knights,” Prez held his hand out and showed two pictures to John. “You were spotted watching this young girl outside of her school. Care to explain why?”
One picture was of him watching from outside the school and the other was of me. He needed to confirm he had been spotted and that he was watching me. I knew that.
“I am a private investigator, that is all you need to know,” John replied, which made my dad step forward and back–handed him across the face.
I could feel Daniel turn to look at me, like he was trying to see if I flinched. Not that I did. I rubbed my thumb on his hand, to reassure him that I was okay. “You are no longer a private investigator. You lost that license.” Dad growled.
“Now, tell us the truth about why you were watching that girl,” Prez sighed, growing impatient.
“Why do you care about some whore, who ran away from her fiancé, and is pretending to be a school girl?”
John said, through gritted teeth.
Daniel sped away from my side, and punched him square in the face and then in the gut. John hunched over groaning, as Daniel walked straight back over to me, and growled only loud enough for me to hear,”
