Chapter 96
Chapter 96
Daniel’s POV-
Mike and I arrived at the rear of the warehouse with our teams, without being spotted, as far as we knew. No alarms or anything strange happened. We kept radio-silent until we were in position. We signaled for everyone to stop and take cover. While we assessed what was going on at the rear of the warehouse and informed the others, we were in position to take down whoever was at the rear of the warehouse. There were a handful of guards and three trucks, large ones like what we used to bring the majority of our men here today.
“We got twelve men, and three trucks. We need to take the twelve men out quietly and in unison, then we will damage their trucks beyond repair. They will have no escape,” Mike said.
I nodded my

Mike and I were together. We always paired for takedowns like this, not that we ut of necessity. We needed everyone to follow our lead, and our order was to pair up, so We moved from the position we were holding. Mike and I headed straight for the biggest e habit of going for the biggest guy. I tucked my rifle behind me. Mike gave a subtle nod of his head. I charged the map, my hand over his mouth, while getting him in a choke hold. Mike moved, plunging his knife into heart and twisting the blade. The man twitched, his pulse rising rapidly, before completely g. I quietly lowered the big guy to the ground.

Is there a load back there?” Prez asked.
“There isn’t, which is weird about them parking the trucks back here,” I replied.
“They might have another way out. Keep your eyes peeled, Prez ordered.
“Is Queenie okay?” I asked.
Then her beautiful voice crackled through the microphone, I am fine, focus on what you are doing. I will be there soon.”
I could hear plenty of others around me and, through the earpiece, chuckling at the brief exchange between Olivia and me. Making me roll my eyes, before Mike and I shared a look. The one thing we never liked to do was separate. Mike will one day be Prez. The president of the Phoenix Knights, as his vice president, I need to make sure to cover his ass and have his back in situations like this. We exchanged a subtle nod of our heads, before we signaled for our teams to follow us. I ran off toward the left side of the building. I will be coming up on the right side of the entrance once we have looped round. Mike is taking the other side, with his own team.
My team followed me, moving quietly, taking down a few more men as we went. I moved my team towards the entrance, seeing Mike rounding the corner on the other side of the warehouse, with his own team. We took up positions, just as the SUVs and a truck came flying towards the entrance of the warehouse. They screeched to a complete halt, as the doors opened and our people poured out. Olivia was the first person I saw. She climbed out the SUV, one hand clutching on to a cylindrical object. Her hand reached up and pulled something from the object and she threw it straight into the warehouse. Damn, she got a throwing arm on her.
A loud flash and bang echoed from inside the warehouse, we could hear people groaning inside. Flash bangs. It was a suggestion that Olivia made for us to use them, when she saw that Mr Robinson had brought a crate load of them. I watched as she drew her handgun, ducking low behind one of the SUVs. She moved so elegantly that there was no doubt in my mind she was truly born for this side of our world, of my world.
I turned my attention back to the warehouse, seeing that she was now behind one of the SUVs, taking cover. I peaked around the corner, saw movement of at least four men. I signaled to Mike that there were four on his side. He signaled that there were at least six men on my side. I nodded, and he started the
count-down with his hand.
Three.
Two.
One.
Mike and I both turned the muzzle of our rifles into the warehouse. My gaze swept across the warehouse, finding my first target, I opened fire. He went down, as his friends returned fire, and I had to move back and take cover. Mike had done the same. We took a few more down, before we started pushing into the warehouse. Quickly neutralizing the men inside. I glanced over at Mike. He felt it too. Something didn’t

feel right:
A concussive blast sent us all flying back. I braced myself for impact, protecting my head. I crashed down, my ears ring. I felt one of my men grabne and began to pull me out of the way for cover. I heard footsteps, coming from deeper inside the warehouse, followed by gunfire.
“We need back up. I can’t see Carnage and his team. He got knocked back by an explosion,” Mike’s panicked voice came through my earpiece.
