Chapter 97
Olivia’s POV
From the moment Daniel left my side, I have been nervous. He is the only one that keeps me calm, especially in situations like this, I knew at the same time, he had to trust me that I would be okay, and he had to trust that I would be okay without him beside me. I also need to follow Prez’s orders and, for whatever reason, he thinks us being separated will be a good idea.
I listened to everything that they were saying as they cleared the rear of the warehouse and moved towards the front of the warehouse. As they moved to the front of the warehouse, we sped down to the warehouse in the SUVs and trucks. Four of us, including myself, were going to jump out of the SUVs and throw flash bangs into the warehouse. I drew my gun and dashed for cover by the front wheel of one of the SUVs.
Gunshots sounded, and I glanced over the hood and spotted Mike and Daniel taking down a few men inside the warehouse, before moving deeper into the warehouse. Then…
BOOM!!!
Prez pulled me back behind the car. I noticed that my dad and Dragon were behind the other SUV and Prez was the only one near me. Those three swore that they would keep me safe. So, I get why he pulled me down. It didn’t stop the furious look I shot him. The man I love was inside that warehouse, and an explosion had just gone off.
“Mike, Carnage, report in,” Prez yelled into his earpiece.
Then there was gunfire.
“Report!” Prez yelled next to me.
“We need back up. I can’t see Carnage and his team. He got knocked back by an explosion,” Mike’s
panicked voice came through my earpiece.
I glanced at Prez and saw relief flood his features upon hearing Mike’s voice. But my heart only beat louder and more violently. Daniel got knocked back by the explosion. Oh my god, is he hurt? Is he alright?! reached for my earpiece, jumping to my feet, as my eyes welled with tears. My voice trembled as I spoke, Where is he? Has anyone got eyes on him? Daniel, Daniel, respond please.”
There was a pause, silence. Everyone waiting for something, anything. A bloody sound, a groan would have been something anything to relieve the thundering heartbeat in my chest. Prez was signaling for people to move in, and I stuck to Prez’s side, as we moved in, but even as we did, all I could think about was Daniel and if he was okay. Then finally, his voice came through the earpiece. “My love, I am okay. I am not hurt. Crusher and my team are accounted for. Crusher pulled me out of the way. We are taking cover.”
I let out a sigh of relief, as I followed behind Prez into the warehouse. He led us in the direction of Mike. My dad took the center of the warehouse, while Dragon led his team towards Daniel. I didn’t like that I was

heading away from barrel, but I had to follow Prez’s orders. Prez’s team was made up of us and six other mien. The youngest is Flex.
Bullets flew back and forth. I ducked for cover, firing a few shots, faking a man down. Shots were fired towards us. Everyone took cover. “Prez,” Flex yelled, from beside me.
I turned to see Prez getting hit three times, before going down. I looked at the other men with us, and yelled, “Cover us. Flex, help me.”
The men behind us opened fire, towards those that had just fired at us. I grabbed Flex, and we rushed towards Prez. We grabbed him and pulled him for cover. “Prez is hit,” Flex said into his earpiece.
The moment we had taken cover, I checked over Prez, pressing my fingers on his neck to check for a pulse. “Is he breathing,” Flex asked.
I nodded, “He has a pulse. His vest caught one of the bullets, but he has been hit in the shoulder and thigh. I need your belt.”
Flex took it off and handed it over to me. I had gauze jammed in all my pockets, so I tore them all out and pressed them a couple on his shoulder, which was a through and through. But the rest of the gauze I had, I jammed into the wound on Prez’s leg as tightly as I could, and I used Flex’s belt as a tourniquet on Prez’s leg, while I spoke, “Flex, keep us covered while I try my best to treat Prez.”
Flex nodded and kept watch with his gun at the ready. Prez groaned awake, and whispered, “Fuck that hurts.”
“Prez, try to keep still. Your vest caught one of the bullets. One hit your shoulder and the other is in your thigh. I think the one in your thigh might have nicked your femoral artery,” I told him.
“You’re doing good, Queenie,” Prez said.
The rest of our team moved in, before trying to push forward to take up a better defensive position. But as they moved, more bullets were fired, but this time at a much faster rate per second. All of them went
down. Flex was still taking cover, not leaving us.
A team of eight men began to move towards us. Flex opened fire and took two of the guys down, before he was clipped in the shoulder. He couldn’t raise his shooting arm after that, I raised my gun, and shielded Prez with my body. Flex tried to raise his arm, but he was shaking so badly that I doubt he would be able to fire his gun. “Kill the boy, but don’t touch the girl,” a man’s voice called out.
Shots rang out and Flex went down. “FLEX!” I screamed.
Blood oozed from Flex’s head. I could see the light going out of his eyes. He was gone straight away. Even though my eyes were fixed on Flex, I still held my gun up, pointing it in the direction of the men.
“Put the gun down, Olivia.”
Vargas!
My head snapped back towards him. As Prez groaned, “Queenie, run! Get away from him.”
Chapter 34.
I am not leaving you. I growled, through gritted teeth.
Vargas chuckled, “A protective one over the men around her. You should only be protective of me and no
one else.”
I rolled my eyes, “I’d rather you eat this bullet.”
“Feist ttle thing, aren’t you?” Vargas said.
You barely caught a glimpse of who ham.”
rked, his eyes roaming over me, making my skin crawl. “Queenie, get out of here now.” Prez
back to glare at Prez, because there was no way in hell that I was going to leave his side when unded like this. The momentary distraction meant that one of Vargas’ men trade a grab for the my hand. In the struggle it went off. Vargas’ man stumbled backwards, snatching the gun away from ausing the slide of the gun to scrap against my hand, cutting it open. I winced.
gas snarled, pulling his own gun and shooting his own man. “No one hurt the girl, I thought I made self clear about that. Now, this is the president of that little club, grab him. Olivia, ort your feet, you are oth coming with us.”
You might want to tie my hands behind my back, because the first chance I get, I will snap your neck,” I growled.
“Good to know you like bondage,” Vargas smirked, grabbing my arm and pulling me to his feet.
