217 Chapter 217 She Gets What She
Deserves
Blanche’s POV a
I turned at the commotion and saw Carry perched on a rock, pointing at Dorian’s head while screaming profanities.
I marched over without hesitation, my fingers clenched so tight my knuckles went white.
Fury boiled inside me silently–who the hell did she
think she was?
But before I could get within a few feet of Carry, Camila burst out of nowhere.
Camila didn’t hesitate. She tackled Carry straight off the rock, slamming her to the ground.
Camila held nothing back. While Carry was still dazed, Camila straddled her, delivering brutal slaps to her face and body.
Carry was just another spoiled rich brat–fighting wasn’t exactly her strong suit. Against Camila, she was

completely defenseless, outclassed from the get–go.
The girls‘ brawl created quite a racket. Even Joanna, who’d been laser–focused on charming Vincent, frowned at the disturbance, clearly annoyed by the
interruption.
Joanna walked over to where Carry was getting pummeled, shouting, “Camila, do you know what you’re doing? When Zain hears about this, you think you’ll escape serious consequences?”
Her words were obviously directed at me, using Zain’s name to force me into breaking up the fight.
But I didn’t budge; I just watched coldly as Camila continued beating Carry.
Carry sobbed hysterically while threatening through her tears, “Camila, if you don’t quit, I’ll have my father destroy you–he’ll wipe out your entire family!”
Camila wasn’t intimidated at all–she just kept pounding Carry, completely ignoring her threats.
Eventually, Carry’s tough talk crumbled fast; her fierce threats became pitiful whimpers, until her voice was barely audible.

Joanna started panicking. She was terrified Camila might go too far and seriously injure Carry–if
something actually happened to Carry, how could she possibly explain that to Zain?
So Joanna rushed over, ready to break up the fight
herself.
But suddenly, I reached out and grabbed her arm, blocking her path.
Joanna spun around to face me, her expression shocked, and snapped, “Blanche! Carry’s your own daughter—are you really just going to stand there and watch her get beaten like this? Maybe even killed? Is this what you call being a mother?”
I gave Joanna a cold, venomous stare–my eyes like poison–tipped blades.
My voice could freeze blood. “She brought this on herself. She gets exactly what she deserves.”
Joanna froze, stunned. “Blanche, you…”
But after seeing my completely indifferent expression, Joanna fell silent for several seconds before finally
saying, “Zain was right. You really aren’t cut out to be a mother.”

As she spoke, Joanna slowly tried to pull her arm from my grip.
Just as she was about to break free, a much larger figure stepped in front of her, blocking her way.
She looked up to find Vincent standing there.
She paused, but before she could speak, Vincent cut her off with a question. “Ms. Callum’s right, isn’t she?”
Vincent and I stood side by side, forming a solid barrier in front of Joanna, completely blocking any chance for her to get past.
Seeing this, Joanna’s heart went cold. She stammered,
“You…”
With an icy glare, Vincent replied, “What? Am I wrong?”
Joanna realized there was no way she could stop the fight now, so she just backed down and hoped Camila wouldn’t go completely insane.
She thought to herself, ‘As long as Camila doesn’t actually injure her, whatever!’
Carry wasn’t her child, so honestly, Joanna couldn’t care less.

Watching Carry get beaten, Joanna secretly enjoyed it a little.
Meanwhile, after being called a bastard, Dorian quietly wiped his tears and crept back over, trying to stay inconspicuous.
Seeing Camila on top of Carry, Dorian immediately understood she was fighting for him–Camila completely had his back.
Based on Carry’s condition, she’d clearly been taking a beating for a while.
So Dorian anxiously stepped forward and begged, “Camila, stop it! If you keep hitting her, someone’s going to get seriously hurt!”
Camila’s fists finally stopped when she heard Dorian’s
cry.
Soaked in sweat and breathing hard, Camila climbed off Carry and walked straight to Dorian.
Carry lay on the ground, not caring about appearances anymore, just sobbing openly.
When I heard Carry’s cries, my heart clenched so painfully I could barely breathe.

Joanna darted past Vincent and me, rushing to Carry’s side.
Camila approached Dorian, her knuckles still bloody, and slapped her hand on his shoulder.
“If she dares mouth off to you again, just tell me,” Camila said fiercely. “I swear, I’ll tear her apart myself.”
Dorian felt warm inside, but seeing Camila’s hair sticking out everywhere, he couldn’t help teasing, “Camila, you look like such a tomboy right now.”
Camila smacked his head. “You want to die?”
Dorian instinctively threw his hands up to protect his head. “Sorry, I’m sorry!”
Camila finally pulled her hand back, looking satisfied.
“That’s better.”
Dorian lowered his hands and looked at Camila with complete sincerity. “Thanks, Cordelia.”
Camila cringed and shot him a dramatic eye roll. “Ugh, shut up already.”
Dorian actually kept quiet after that and didn’t say
another word.

Meanwhile, Joanna approached Carry, bending down as if to embrace her.
But before her hand could even reach Carry, Carry scrambled up and bolted straight into the woods.
She kept crying as she ran.
Seeing this, Joanna could only chase after her, feeling completely helpless.
After Camila finished talking to Dorian, she finally noticed my strange, heavy mood.
It hit her—she’d just beaten up my own flesh and
blood.
Seriously, who wouldn’t be upset after witnessing something like that?
Around Dorian, Camila always acted like a total badass -nothing fazed her, nothing scared her.
But now, just meeting my eyes, Camila suddenly felt all her bravado collapse. She was straight–up nervous, feeling guilty as hell.
She stepped up to me, reaching out to gently hook her pinky around mine, as if asking for forgiveness.

I lowered my gaze, and Camila just squeezed her eyes shut, blurting out, “Aunt Blanche, I’m sorry, I know I screwed up. Go ahead and hit me if you need to–just don’t stay mad at me, and please, don’t ever ignore me.”
Those words hit me like a punch to the gut–my heart twisted even tighter.
How come Camila could be so sweet and obedient, but Carry… I couldn’t help but wonder, feeling more lost than ever.
I sighed inwardly. Makes sense. Carry’s with Joanna now, so it’s out of my hands.
I crouched down and gently caressed Camila’s cheek. “Camila, you don’t need to apologize to me. Those who do wrong deserve to be punished for it.”
Camila hugged my leg, sniffled, and pleaded, “Aunt Blanche, go check on Sue. Mr. Aarav’s still here–he can keep me company.”
I shook my head. “Someone already went after her. There’s no point in me going–she doesn’t need me
anyway.”

Camila could still sense I wasn’t really okay, so she said, “Aunt Blanche, go ahead and hit me if it’ll help you calm down.”
As she spoke, she stuck out her hand, offering it to me.
I just took Camila’s hand in mine, not saying a word.
Camila could see I was really hurting, so she spoke up again, “Aunt Blanche, no matter what happens, I don’t regret hitting Sue.”
I looked up at Camila and managed a weak smile. “You did great, Camila. You were protecting your friend.”
Even though my heart ached, deep down I knew Camila hadn’t done anything wrong.
Vincent stood off to the side, his hand holding Dorian’s, but I could feel his gaze fixed entirely on me —like I was the only person in the world to him. I noticed how intensely he was studying my face, like he was trying to read every emotion I was feeling. From the way he looked at me, I could tell he understood exactly how much I was hurting inside, even though I was trying to hide it. There was such genuine concern in his eyes, an ache that seemed to mirror my own pain. But then something shifted in his expression–he

seemed to remember something that cut deep, maybe how I’d called him ‘dirty‘ earlier. I watched his face change as that memory clearly stung him, forcing him to turn away, his jaw tightening defensively. Despite his obvious attempt to look elsewhere, I could see him struggling with himself, stealing glances back at me even as he tried to maintain distance. It was clear he
was completely hooked on me, even if it meant lowering himself again and again, unable to stop himself no matter how hard he tried not to make a fool of himself over me.
