234 Chapter 234 Let’s Make Him
Furious
Blanche’s POV
After Vincent finished texting Lucia, he glanced up at me. He must have expected me to still be asleep, but I was already awake.
Noticing I was up, Vincent frowned with concern. “Something wrong?” I’d been sound asleep just moments before, and now I was suddenly wide awake.
Vincent slipped his phone away and gave me a worried
look.
His eyes swept over me, taking in how most of my bruises had begun fading, though a few stubborn dark marks still remained.
I caught Vincent’s anxious stare and forced a weak smile. “Nothing serious. Just need the bathroom.”
At that, Vincent shot to his feet and grabbed the IV bag. “Come on. I’ll help you.”

I quickly protested, “I can just call a nurse.”
My hand moved toward the call button as I spoke.
But Vincent was quicker, his fingers wrapping gently around my wrist as he said, “They’re swamped right now. I’ll take you.”
His voice carried that stubborn edge I knew too well, and I realized Vincent had made up his mind–arguing would be pointless.
Though mortification burned through me, when your body calls the shots, you don’t really have a choice.
So I gave in and let him win this round.
At the bathroom, Vincent positioned himself beside me, supporting the IV bag while heat flooded my cheeks. The awkwardness of having him so close while I took care of business was almost unbearable.
Vincent must have sensed my discomfort because he suddenly asked, “Want to meet my mother?”
I blinked at him in shock. “What?”
Vincent kept his eyes straight ahead as he continued,

“She’s really amazing. She’s been wanting to meet you for ages.”
While Vincent was clearly trying to distract me from the embarrassment, I could tell he was being sincere.
After I finished up, I hurried to straighten my clothes and flush. Still feeling awkward, I shot Vincent a sidelong glance and mumbled, “I’m not sure meeting her is such a good idea…”
Vincent finally looked my way, his grin spreading wide. “It’s bound to happen sooner or later.”
Seeing Vincent’s determination, my expression
hardened. “I never agreed to meet her.”
Vincent just smiled. “You will eventually.”
My voice turned steely. “Never.”
Vincent’s face darkened–he didn’t seem to care that he was still holding the IV bag in one hand. His free arm swept around me, pulling me flush against him as his voice dropped to a commanding growl. “When I say it’ll happen, it will.”
Vincent’s tone was pure dominance. Without

hesitation, he practically deposited me back onto the hospital bed.
After securing the IV bag, he settled himself right back down beside me on the mattress.
He leaned in close, his tall frame creating a shadow
that seemed to swallow me whole.
His dark eyes locked with mine, his tone playful but edged with arrogance. “You know you can’t beat me- why not just be sweet and do what I say for once?”
Vincent’s playfully bossy tone left me completely speechless.
I looked away, my gaze drifting as I searched for some kind of response.
While I was still scrambling for words, my phone chimed with an incoming message.
I turned to Vincent quickly. “Hold on, let me check this. Could be something from the hospital.”
That seemed reasonable enough, so Vincent nodded his agreement.

I snatched up my phone and opened my messages.
But the second I saw the sender’s name, my entire expression shifted.
Zain. His message read: [Come back to the villa.]
The demanding tone sent unease crawling up my spine.
I wasn’t planning to respond–my thumb was already moving to lock the screen when another text from Zain appeared.
[Let’s discuss the divorce again.]
Seeing him mention divorce, I quickly typed back: [What exactly needs discussing?]
Zain replied: [I want to add another condition to the divorce settlement.]
I frowned in confusion. [Can’t you just tell me the basics over text?]
A few moments dragged by before Zain’s next message appeared: [After the divorce, you can’t see Carry
anymore.]

I stared at Zain’s words in complete disbelief.
I fired back a sharp “?“–not bothering with any other
response.
Zain’s reply came immediately: [I’ll increase the compensation significantly.]
Anger surged through me as I typed furiously: [But Carry is my daughter–she came from my body! How can you ask me to abandon her?]
Zain texted back, his words ice–cold: [She’s your daughter—but if you’re fine with her getting close to Joanna, that’s your call.]
I stared at his brutal message, my chest tightening with pain.
I typed: [Once the cooling–off period ends, we’ll finalize the divorce. As for Carry, I can’t promise I’ll completely stay away after we’re divorced, but I’ll do my best to minimize my involvement.]
After hitting send, I quietly placed my phone back on the nightstand.
I didn’t even bother checking if Zain had sent anything

else.

Throughout my entire text exchange with Zain,
Vincent’s eyes never left me.
Once I set my phone down, he asked quietly, “That was
Zain?”
I nodded. “Yes.”
Vincent could have easily glanced down and seen my conversation with Zain right there on the screen.
But for some reason–even he probably couldn’t explain why–he just couldn’t bring himself to look. He didn’t want to know what we’d been saying to each
other.
Vincent asked, “What did he want?”
I didn’t feel like getting into it, so I brushed it off. “Nothing major, just checking how I’m doing.”
‘Checking on me?‘ I couldn’t help but wonder.
Hearing that, Vincent scoffed sarcastically, “If he actually cared about you, he’d be here at the hospital with you, not sending a few texts and calling that
concern.”

For a moment, Vincent actually seemed to buy my explanation. From the way he looked, I could tell he’d assumed that if we’d been texting for that long, it must have been something important. But really? Just checking up on me? Was that all he’d gotten from it?
Seeing Vincent getting worked up, I tried to smooth things over. “He’s probably just tied up with other things.”
“Yeah, tied up–tied up spoiling his precious sweetheart,” Vincent shot back, not even attempting
to hide his sarcasm.
I didn’t respond–just went quiet.
I’d only thrown out a casual explanation, never expecting Vincent to react this strongly.
I figured Vincent would storm out, but he didn’t.
Instead, after a few seconds, he gave me a wicked smile and said teasingly, “Since he’s out there playing around, why don’t you have some fun too? Sleep with me–let’s make him furious together.”
My face burned with outrage as I glared at Vincent, my

voice trembling with anger. “You… you’re shameless!”
Vincent’s grin just got wider, completely unbothered. “Hey, it’s not like we haven’t shared a bed before.”
I snapped back, still seething. “That’s completely different!”
Vincent didn’t get angry–instead, he drew out his words with a teasing tone, “Oh? So you’re interested in sleeping with someone else?”
The implication hit me instantly–I knew exactly what he was suggesting.
Realizing I couldn’t win a war of words with Vincent, I yanked the blanket over my head in complete frustration and mumbled, “I’m going to sleep.”
