294 Chapter 294 Screaming Into
The Rain
Blanche’s POVO
I stepped out of the hospital ward and headed toward the main entrance when I noticed the unexpected rain outside.
The downpour hadn’t been heavy at first, but it appeared from nowhere.
In just minutes, the pavement was already drenched.
I searched frantically through every corner of the hospital for Carry. When I couldn’t find any trace of her, and the rain started coming down harder outside, I didn’t think twice–I decided to hunt for her in the
storm.
The second I stepped outside and felt the rain, I barely noticed it. I just rushed straight into the downpour, frantic to find Carry.
Rain streamed down my face, mixing with my tears until they became indistinguishable.

With bloodshot eyes and a voice raw from worry, I shouted Carry’s name over and over, my calls dissolving into the rain–even though no one responded, I couldn’t stop.
I was so consumed with panic that calling the police never occurred to me; all I could focus on was finding Carry.
I was so terrified of missing any sign of Carry that I even searched through every bush, refusing to leave any spot unexplored.
Zain emerged from the hospital ward and saw me digging through the flower beds.
At the same time, I whispered under my breath, “Carry, please, don’t play games with Mommy like this. Come out, sweetheart. If I can’t find you, I’m seriously going to lose it.”
My voice shook with tears, so broken that anyone could hear my desperation.
Zain stood behind me, and I could sense his pain as he watched. Unable to stand it any longer, he rushed into the rain and grabbed my hand.

“Blanche, Carry’s not here,” Zain said urgently, his voice shaking with concern and worry.
Rain made everything blurry, and Zain squinted, focusing his gaze on the worried lines of my face.
I whirled around and shot Zain a look burning with resentment and fury.
But before I could speak, Zain interrupted, his voice rough and desperate, “Come on, let’s just call the cops, okay?”
At that, my eyes flew wide and tears streamed down my face. I screamed at Zain, my voice cracking, “Then do it! What’s the point of telling me–Just call them!”
Seeing me so distraught, Zain moved forward and gently drew me into his arms. He lowered his head and said quietly, “Don’t worry. She should be okay.”
“Should be okay?” I snapped, my heart squeezing painfully in my chest.
When I heard that, it felt like someone had wrapped a fist around my heart. I pushed Zain away, yelling, “Should be okay? How can you make promises like that

when we haven’t found Carry yet? Who are you to comfort me with meaningless words?”
I screamed with everything I had, veins standing out on my face, my eyes so red they looked ready to bleed.
Zain watched me cry, his heart clenched so tight it seemed to hurt him to breathe.
He stared at me, but before he could speak, I started firing questions at him, my voice shaking with rage. “Zain, did I ever say I wanted to take Carry away? Why do you trust Joanna so completely? What’s so special about her? How can you be so certain she’s someone you can depend on?”
As I shouted, I pounded my fists against Zain’s chest. “Let me tell you–if anything happens to Carry, don’t expect me to ever forgive you. I swear it.”
Zain didn’t pull back. Instead, he wrapped me in his arms, holding me close. “I’ve already got people looking for her. Don’t worry, she’ll be fine–I promise.”
My entire body was shaking. I tried to push Zain away, but I was so drained I couldn’t find any strength.

Seeing me like this, Zain gently took my hands, softened his voice, and comforted me, “It’s all my fault. Go ahead, you can hit me if it’ll make you feel better.”
As he spoke, he leaned closer, his face mere inches from mine, offering himself for my anger.
He thought, ‘I’ll take whatever she needs to give me, as long as it helps her release it.’
But I didn’t raise a hand to strike him. My eyes were empty as I looked at Zain and said weakly, “Zain, please… just let me go.”
I’d lost all strength–couldn’t even manage to say another word.
Right now, my mind was filled with just one thing- worrying about Carry.
Zain saw exhaustion covering every inch of my face.
Softening his voice, he said, “This is all on me. Let me handle finding Carry. You’re exhausted–let me have someone drive you back to Blissfield Villa.”
Worried I still wouldn’t trust him, Zain declared with fierce determination, “I swear—if I don’t bring Carry

back today, I’ll end it all right in front of you.”
But his words did nothing to calm my heart.
I just gave a bitter, cold smile and replied, “No need. We’ll each search separately.”
With those words, I stepped back, creating distance between myself and Zain.
Seeing this, Zain instinctively reached out again, wanting to pull me back into his arms.
But I recoiled, shouting at him, my voice breaking with desperation, “Zain, don’t come any closer. I’m begging you–please, just stay away.”
Zain’s eyes narrowed at my request, and he pulled back his outstretched hand.
At the same time, he murmured, trying to calm me, “Alright, I won’t come over. I promise.”
My clothes were completely soaked, but I didn’t feel the cold at all–all I could think about was finding Carry.
Seeing that Zain finally stopped approaching, I turned around and walked away, not giving him another look.

Zain’s POV
Zain started to follow her, but suddenly his phone rang–it was Desmond calling.
Right after he left Joanna’s room, Zain had already sent people out to search for Carry.
Now Desmond was calling, and Zain was certain it meant they’d found Carry, so he answered
immediately.
But Desmond’s voice came through, heavy with disappointment. “Mr. Jacob, we still haven’t found Miss Carry yet.”
Zain’s temper exploded instantly. He snapped into the phone, “What the hell are you even good for? I told you to find a kid, and you can’t even do that? What’s the point of you?”
Zain had been trying so hard to stay composed, but when Desmond said they still hadn’t found Carry, his
heart sank like a stone.
‘Did something really happen to her?‘ Zain thought,

panic rising in his chest.
Just thinking about it made his chest ache with a heavy, crushing pain.
Blanche’s POV
Meanwhile, I left the hospital and searched
everywhere in the pouring rain, not caring that I was getting drenched. All that mattered to me was finding Carry.
I’d only been searching for a few minutes when my phone rang.
My heart leaped–maybe it was Zain calling, ready to tell me that Carry was safe.
But unfortunately, it wasn’t Zain. It was Vincent.
I considered it for a moment, then chose not to
answer.
But Vincent just kept calling me, one call after another.
Finally, I couldn’t hold out any longer and picked up.

Before I could snap back, Vincent’s angry voice blasted through the line, barking, “Blanche, what the hell are you doing? Why the hell aren’t you answering me? Getting a little too bold for your own good, huh?”
His endless questioning left me even more frustrated.
After a long silence, I finally confessed with a helpless sigh, “Vincent, Carry’s missing.”
Those words hit Vincent like a blow—his heart shattered instantly.
My pain came through crystal clear, even over the phone.
Until now, he’d just assumed I was busy with Zain- that’s why I hadn’t answered his calls.
But the last thing he expected was for Carry to go missing.
Vincent could clearly sense how anxious I was- especially with the rain pouring down outside–so he couldn’t just stay out of it. He said, “Text me where you are. I’ll come and help you search.”
Once I told him the address, Vincent reassured me,
