76 Chapter 76 Cornered By A Shameless Player
Blanche’s POV
Vincent leaned in so close his warm breath brushed across my face. I ducked my head instinctively, trying to create some distance.
My nerves kicked in. “That’s not really necessary between us, is it?”
Before I married Zain, Vincent used to joke around about marrying me. After the wedding, he dropped it completely. But now? He was
back at it again.
When I tried to hide my face, Vincent’s lips curved into a knowing smile. He snatched my hand and flattened it against his chest, putting
on this wounded expression. “When you blow me off, it’s like a cat’s been shredding my heart to pieces.
“Come on, feel it. Can you tell my heart’s still scarred up?”
He pressed my hand firmly against his chest, deliberately making my fingers work against his muscles.
This wasn’t really about showing me his heartbreak–he wanted me to notice how solid he was.
My fingers grazed his muscles, and my first impulse was to yank away, but Vincent just clamped down harder, trapping me.
Since I couldn’t break free, I met his eyes directly, letting challenge creep into my voice. “Oh really? I bet you’ve lost track of how many
women you’ve fed that same line to.”
Vincent’s eyebrows drew together briefly, but then he broke into a grin. “Baby, I’ve got to level with you. I’ve probably used this on more
than twenty girls.”
I tried jerking my hand back, but Vincent’s grip was like iron.
That’s when I caught sight of Quinton emerging from the Callum Mansion, looking around–clearly waiting for me.
Panic started setting in. “Vincent, Quinton’s at the door waiting for me. If I don’t show up, he’ll lose it.”
Vincent pushed my hand back against his chest, his eyes boring into mine. “What about me? If I can’t see you, I might just die.”
I wasn’t buying it, especially from Vincent–it sounded like another one of his practiced lines.
*Die? Right. A player like Vincent probably wants to live forever, not keel over from something like this.*
When Vincent saw I wasn’t taking the bait, he suddenly flashed a grin. “Blanche, maybe I should go chat with Quinton right now?”
My panic spiked, and I snapped at him, “What the hell are you trying to pull?”
Vincent reached up and wound a loose strand of my hair around his finger, giving me this gentle smile. “Did I ever mention I wanted to
marry you?”
I let my eyes close for a second, then fired back, “So how many women have you used that line on?”
Vincent stopped, acting like he was really thinking it over, then said, “At least fifty, I’d say.”

I shot him a look. “And you think anyone would actually believe that?”
Vincent looked right at me, completely serious. “But with you, I really mean it.”
I shoved against him, my voice sharp “Doesn’t matter how sincere you sound–I’m never buying your bullshit.
We were standing so close our breath practically mingled with every word. The whole situation made my skin crawl.
Vincent didn’t get angry. He just kept my hand pressed to his chest, barely putting in any effort as he easily countered every push 1
made.
No matter how hard I fought, the space between us stayed exactly the same.
When my strength finally ran out, Vincent caught my wrist, his thumb drawing slow, teasing circles on the sensitive skin there.
Suddenly, Vincent went still, glancing down to see my wrist completely bare. He frowned at me. “Where’s the bracelet?”
I blinked, finally remembering. “Oh, right. Just wait in the car. I’ll go get it and bring it back to you.”
Vincent’s frown deepened. “Bring it back to me? Why? Not your taste?”
I shook my head. “No, it’s just-”
But Vincent cut me off. “Sounds like that bracelet isn’t good enough for you. There’s an auction tomorrow. I’ll just grab you something
even more expensive.”
I got flustered. “Vincent, don’t-”
Before I could finish, Vincent’s expression turned hard. “If you won’t wear the bracelet, then you’ll get pricier jewelry delivered every
single day–until you finally put it on.”
Seeing him like that, I deliberately tried to get under his skin. “It’s not my money, so why should I give a damn? No matter how expensive
it is, I won’t wear it.
Vincent just laughed. “Perfect, as long as you don’t feel guilty about it. I make money so you can blow it. If you won’t, then what’s the
point of me busting my ass? Every dollar I earn is for you, and I’d blow it all without thinking twice.“
With that, Vincent reached out and gently touched my cheek.
I startled and, in my panic, slapped Vincent’s hand hard.
Vincent winced and pulled back, but instead of shaking off the sting, he deliberately ran his tongue over the spot, making it look almost
seductive.
Sull licking his hand, Vincent glanced up at me with this cocky grin. “Baby, next time go a little easier on me, yeah?
“I know I’m solid, and I don’t mind you putting me in my place, but honestly, I’d rather you hit me when we’re in bed together. Now that
would be a real rush
His laugh was bold and shameless, that player gleam in his eyes completely unfiltered.
I shot him a furious glare and snapped, “You shameless player”

I was so pissed I couldn’t even think of anything better to call him–and besides, no insult I came up with would ever faze Vincent
anyway.
And what I just said? Vincent looked totally unbothered, like he wore the label with pride.
1 glared at Vincent with everything I had, but to him, I probably looked more cute than threatening–like a kitten trying to act fierce. He
just chuckled and couldn’t help teasing me. “Baby, you’re way too cute.”
The second he said it, Vincent leaned in, clearly going for my lips, but at the last second, he shifted mischievously and pressed a kiss to
my neck instead.
Vincent had me cornered with nowhere to run.
As his lips got closer, I wanted to dodge, but there was no escape. When he finally kissed my neck, my whole body went stiff.
Heat shot through me, and the spot where his lips touched felt like it was burning.
Finally, Vincent rested his chin in the curve of my shoulder, leaning into me but careful not to crush me with his weight. Right then, our
bodies were pressed completely together.
I found myself leaning against Vincent, breathing in his cologne–warm and inviting, not overpowering at all, just the right hint of
sophistication.
After what felt like forever, I finally spoke up. “You could’ve kissed me, so why did you hold back?”
In that position, I had nowhere to go; if Vincent had wanted, he could’ve easily pinned me in place with minimal effort.
Vincent gave this sly, knowing smile. “Because you were fighting me.”
I blinked, suddenly speechless.
I didn’t really know Vincent that well and had always written him off as some reckless player who never took anything seriously. But his
words actually left me kind of stunned.
After a while, Vincent finally stepped back, giving me breathing room. “Go on, head back. Tomorrow night, I’ll have someone deliver
something new
I was about to argue, but Vincent cut me off again. “If you don’t wear what I give you, I’ll just keep sending you more and more until you
do
After a long moment of staring at each other, I just stayed quiet.
As I got out of the car, this nagging unease wouldn’t leave me alone.
Vincent looked dead serious–he wasn’t messing around at all.
*If he keeps sending gifts, it’ll just pile more pressure on me.*
