Leonard also placed a piece of fish into Larissa’s plate.

Larissa hadn’t expected Leonard to actually transfer the company shares into her name.

That was hundreds of billions in value, just handed to her like that.

“Thank you,” she said softly.

Leonard and Ruby truly seemed to love her.

But after everything she had experienced in her previous life, her heart no longer dared to expect anything from family.

She was afraid that if they ever discovered she was not as sweet, obedient, or perfect as they imagined. they would end up disliking her the way the Turners had.

If she never truly had something, never truly hoped for it, then she wouldn’t be afraid of losing it.

Faced with such warmth and overwhelming affection, she felt awkward and unsure how to respond.

Nelson noticed her discomfort and smoothly changed the subject. “Mom, Dad, where’s Gavin? Did he go back to campus already? And why isn’t Russ home?”

Ruby had wanted to grow closer to Larissa, but she could clearly sense the girl’s guarded heart.

She knew this would take time.

She was afraid that being too eager would scare Larissa away.

“Gavin wanted to stay home a few more days, but his professor suddenly called him back. As for Russ, he took yesterday off, but work got busy today, so he’s on overtime at the hospital. For the next few days, if you’re free, you’ll handle picking Larissa up and dropping her off. If you’re ever busy, tell me. I’ll try to wrap up my work earlier. Later on, I’ll take over and accompany Larissa myself,” Ruby explained,

“I’ve got plenty of time, just leave Larissa to me. I promise I’ll take perfect care of her,” Nelson said immediately.

Right now, he was the closest to Larissa out of everyone in the family.

It was an opportunity the others could only envy.

Larissa wanted to say that she could go to school on her own.

After all, she had survived five years on Ravenmind Island. How could she possibly be bullied now?

But they did not really give her a chance to speak.

“All right, this week, you’re in charge of driving Larissa. Once I finish handing off my work, I’ll take over,” Ruby said with a nod.

In truth, she wanted to care for Larissa personally more than anything.

Leonard agreed as well.

“Larissa, Dad can take you to school too. Nothing is more important than you. No matter what happens, you have to tell us. Your mom and I are your support.”

She was just too well–behaved, too sensible. It made him ache as a father.

Larissa nodded.

After dinner, once Larissa returned to her room, Leonard, Ruby, and Nelson went to the study.

Nelson told them everything that had happened that day.

“Larissa didn’t live well at the Turner Estate. I met Julia today, the Turners‘ biological daughter. I suspect she was the one who had been bullying Larissa all along. That’s probably why Larissa learned to endure everything silently and never complain.”

“I was planning to thank the Turners for raising Larissa, but I never imagined she had suffered so much injustice there. And now they even dared to frame her as a murderer. It’s unforgivable,” Ruby said bitterly.

Just thinking about what Larissa might have gone through at the Turner Estate made Ruby’s heart ache.

Leonard gently wiped away Ruby’s tears and comforted her.

“Don’t worry. Anyone who dares to bully Larissa will pay the price. And don’t upset yourself too much. The doctor warned that after Larissa went missing back then, you developed a heart condition. It can only be fully cured by a top specialist. Now that we’ve finally found Larissa, you should relax and focus on being with her.”
