The room erupted into cheers, glasses raised in her direction.

Nina just smiled. “The engagement rumor isn’t true. I’m not getting engaged. I came back to focus on my career here.”

“Really? No engagement? Mr. Rhodes is pretty famous abroad too–I saw reports saying you’d already met each other’s families!”

Charlotte looked genuinely surprised.

Nina laughed. “Our families are just close.”

The Tann family had plenty of business partners. She and Caleb Rhodes were simply college classmates, and with their families working together, they naturally spent more time around each other.
