Only then did Nina take off her sunglasses. Sam glanced at her through the rearview mirror and said, “Mr. and Mrs. Tann have already prepared dinner. They’re waiting for you at home.”
“Tell them I’ll skip it tonight. There’s a class reunion I need to attend. I’ll make it up to them
tomorrow.”
She glanced at the messages in her old class group chat.
After five years, it was suddenly active again.
Probably because of the buzz she’d stirred up upon returning, news from Linholt had spread, and everyone wanted to be part of it.
“So, Ms. Tann, where to?” Sam asked.
“Linholt Grand Hotel.”
That was where their last graduation reunion had been held five years ago.
“Got it.”
Sam drove straight there.
As soon as Nina stepped out of the car, she became the center of attention.
It wasn’t just her looks–though she was undeniably beautiful–but also her striking figure and effortless poise.
“Isn’t that Nina? She’s been all over the entertainment news lately.”
“I heard she’s getting married to her boyfriend abroad–that’s why she came back early!”
“Oh my god, she’s stunning.”
A few passersby quietly took out their phones and snapped photos of her.
As soon as Nina stepped out of the car, she spotted Charlotte. The moment Charlotte saw her, she froze, eyes wide. “Nina? Is that really you?”
Five years had changed her completely. Nina had grown into her looks–stunning, with a

She was wearing a pair of very short denim shorts and a simple white camisole, her figure on full display.
Compared to five years ago, she had an even richer, more captivating presence–and an even better figure.
“It’s me.” Nina glanced around. “Where is everyone?”
“They’re all inside waiting for you!” Charlotte grabbed her arm, clearly excited. “You have no idea–no one’s even touched their food. They’re all waiting for you to arrive. And there’s a VIP here today–you’d never guess who!”
“A VIP?” Nina raised a brow.
Charlotte pulled her toward the private room. As soon as the door opened, Nina saw all their old Class A classmates gathered together. Her gaze quickly settled on Chase.
“Nina’s here! Come on, take a seat!”
Everyone greeted her warmly and ushered her in.
“Nina, you look incredible now. Who would’ve thought you used to be a chubby kid back then?”
“Exactly! I heard you’ve already made a name for yourself in the entertainment industry overseas. And now you’re back to get engaged–congrats in advance!”
The room erupted into cheers, glasses raised in her direction.
Nina just smiled. “The engagement rumor isn’t true. I’m not getting engaged. I came back to focus on my career here.”
“Really? No engagement? Mr. Rhodes is pretty famous abroad too–I saw reports saying you’d already met each other’s families!”
Charlotte looked genuinely surprised.
Nina laughed. “Our families are just close.”
The Tann family had plenty of business partners. She and Caleb Rhodes were simply college classmates, and with their families working together, they naturally spent more time around each other.

Somehow, the rumors overseas had spiraled out of control. By the time they reached home, it had turned into news that she and Caleb were getting married.
“It’s fine–someone as beautiful as Nina isn’t exactly going to have trouble getting married,” one of the guys across the table joked.
Charlotte immediately frowned. “That’s not the point. Are women born just to get married or something?”
Everyone laughed. “Alright, alright–my bad. I’ll drink as punishment!”
From the moment Nina walked in, she could feel someone’s gaze fixed on her.
She acted like she didn’t notice, but she knew exactly who it was–Chase.
He watched her for a while before someone nearby spoke up. “Oh, right, Nina—you and Chase grew up together, didn’t you? Haven’t been in touch these past few years?”
No one mentioned the unpleasant past. People had quietly chosen to forget it, remembering only that Nina and Chase had been childhood companions–and that they’d caused quite a stir
back then.
Compared to five years ago, Chase had changed. He looked more composed now, dressed in a sharp suit, his expression cool and restrained–just like the Chase Nina remembered from her previous life.
