Chapter 110 He Couldn’t Go Through With It
“Alright. I’ll give you a number. Could you have someone else come pick him up?”
Nina gave the owner Katrina’s phone number, then hung up.

She remembered how, in her previous life, Chase had gotten drunk countless times and called Katrina again and again, trying to win her back. Even during their marriage, the two of them had met in secret more times than she could count.
Chase… if you really love Katrina that much, then you two should just stay together forever.
On the other side, Katrina had just gotten the call from the bar owner. Furious, she hurled her phone across the room.
Seeing her about to head out so late at night, Cecilia frowned. “Where do you think you’re going at this hour?”
Katrina let out a cold laugh. “Where else? I’m going to pick up your precious son from the bar.”
Cecilia brushed it off. “He’s just there for business. Look at you–do you have any idea how a proper wife and mother should act?”
“Business?” Katrina snapped. “What kind of business happens this late at night? The owner said a woman asked him to call me. I’d love to see which shameless woman is trying to seduce a married man!”
Grabbing her car keys, she stormed out.
Watching her leave in such a state, Cecilia grew even more dissatisfied.
What kind of woman had Chase married back then? Regret was useless now.
By the time Katrina reached the bar, she saw Chase slumped over at table thirty–eight, completely drunk and alone. Anger surged through her. She marched over, but just as she reached him, Chase suddenly grabbed her arm.
“Nina… Nina, you came… I knew you would… I knew you’d come see me…”
Katrina’s expression changed instantly. She shook him off and smashed a bottle from the table onto the floor. “Chase! Open your eyes and look at me! Look who I am!”
Her voice snapped him partly sober. People nearby had already started watching.

Fueled by alcohol, Chase staggered to his feet and pointed at her, his face twisted with anger. “Who said you could come here? Get out! Get out!”
Katrina hadn’t expected him to treat her like this. Forgetting all about appearances, she shot back, “Where’s Nina? Where did you hide her? Hand her over! I want to ask her why she’s trying to seduce you!”
She kept looking around for Nina, not noticing the dark, vicious look spreading across Chase’s face.
“If it weren’t for you,” he said coldly, “I would’ve married Nina a long time ago. This is all your fault.”
Chase shoved Katrina, sending her crashing to the floor.
People nearby scattered, keeping their distance. Katrina scrambled back to her feet, furious. “Chase! If I hadn’t stood by you all these years, would you even be where you are today? I’m your wife! If you want Nina so badly, then go–go find her! She’s a big star now. And you? What are you worth? Do you even measure up to one of Caleb’s fingers?”
Caleb was the heir to the Rhodes family. After years abroad, he’d made quite a name for himself and, at a young age, was already handling much of the family business.
And Chase?
He’d just gotten lucky.
He’d swallowed his pride and gone back to every one of Mercer Group’s former partners, begging for opportunities. Without the Mercer family’s old connections, could he really have rebuilt the company? Not
a chance.
“Shut up!”
