Startled, Claire turned back. “Mrs. Mercer…”

“Where was Mr. Mercer last night?”

“Yes, Mr. Mercer.”

Claire quickly left the room.

It was obvious she was upset. She was just a secretary at Mercer Group, yet the way Katrina had looked at her–like she was some homewrecker trying to seduce her boss–was nothing short of humiliating.

“I just saw that Claire–she’s quite pretty. Nice legs, great figure. Chase, you really know how to pick your secretary.”

The jealousy in Katrina’s voice was impossible to miss. Chase frowned. “That’s company business. It has nothing to do with you.”

“Fine. Then answer me this–did you go see Nina last night?”

Her relentless questioning grated on him. Chase said nothing.

Katrina pressed on. “Did you go to the beach with her?”

“The beach? What are you even talking about?”

“Don’t play dumb. I saw Nina’s Status today–someone was with her at the beach. If it wasn’t you, then who?”

She latched onto the smallest hint and refused to let go. Chase stood up, irritation written all over his face. “Katrina, have I spoiled you too much? Get out. Right now. Stop interfering with my work–or go back home.”

“Chase! Won’t you admit it? You’re a married man with a child, and you still went to see Nina! That’s cheating! Do you believe I could ruin your career if I wanted to?”

Katrina pointed at him, shouting like she’d lost all restraint.

That was the last straw. Chase picked up the phone and called security. “Send someone to my office. Now.”

Realizing he was serious, Katrina’s eyes widened. “Chase! I’m your wife–and you’re calling security to throw me out?”

“Cause a scene at home if you want. This is the office. If you want to argue, do it somewhere else. Don’t disrupt my work.”
