Katrina had gone completely pale.

How could Chase go looking for another woman? How dare he?
“Damn, Nina–you really outdid yourself this time.”

Caleb stood off to the side, scrolling through his phone. “This story’s already number one on the trending list.”
Nina, meanwhile, was browsing through dresses in the boutique, glancing between a few options. “I think this champagne–colored one looks great. What do you think?”
“I’m talking about Chase making headlines, and you’re talking about dresses?”
Caleb looked completely exasperated.
Nina held the gown up in front of herself, checking the fit. “Yeah, this one’s nice. I’ll take it.”
“Of course, Ms. Tann.”
Sloane stepped in to wrap the dress for her.
“I’m serious,” Caleb went on. “Are you trying to break up Chase and his wife? Don’t tell me you still have feelings for him.”
Still have feelings?
Nina smiled.
For the past five years, she hadn’t forgotten Chase for a single day.
But what she couldn’t let go of wasn’t love–it was the pain of losing her home and her child, and making sure Chase and Katrina experienced that same kind of loss.
“You’re overthinking it,” she said lightly. “Go pay for it. Consider it your birthday gift to me this year.”
“You’re really saving me money,” Caleb muttered, heading to the counter to swipe his card.

He spotted Nina right away and strolled over with a teasing grin. “Well, if it isn’t Nina from the

Nina turned at the sound of his voice. A casually dressed young man stood there, handsome but smug, with a girl in short, revealing shorts leaning against him.
She frowned slightly. “And you are?”
“Nina, don’t tell me you’ve forgotten me.”
Miles Huntington clearly hadn’t expected that. He let out a cold laugh. “Three years ago, you turned me down overseas. And now? Looks like you’re not doing so well. I heard you’re about to marry that peacock from the Rhodes family? Tch. Didn’t think you’d stoop so low- marrying an illegitimate son of the Rhodes family.”
Nina’s expression cooled as he spoke.
The girl at his side leaned lazily against him and chimed in, “So you’re the Nina who rejected Miles? Why are you all alone? I’ve heard that heir from the Rhodes family is surrounded by women. A bunch of my friends have already been with him. Ms. Tann, you really don’t have high standards, do you?”
Faced with their deliberate taunts, Nina only smiled. “Oh, I remember now. Miles, right? Back when I was studying abroad, there was this guy who wouldn’t take a hint–blocking my way like some street thug, writing me love letters, refusing to back off no matter how many times I rejected him. It wasn’t until Caleb beat him up that he finally got the message. What was it- lost a tooth, didn’t you? Didn’t you learn your lesson back then? Want to try your luck again?”
