“Some people just don’t have that kind of luck. She even bragged about breaking off her engagement with Chase–probably just a lie to save face. He would never go for her anyway.”

As soon as the other students heard Chase was buying Katrina a car, they crowded around her.

Nina couldn’t stand the noise, so she grabbed her practice worksheets and left the classroom.

After Nina walked out, Tara said, “Nina’s been getting chauffeured to school lately. I don’t know where she’s getting all that money for fancy cars.”

“Isn’t she the poor student? Could her family actually be rich?”

“No way. If she’s not poor, then who is the one on financial aid in our grade?”

Hearing the whispers, Katrina panicked that people would suspect her. She kept her voice steady and lied, “I heard… Nina’s dad is a driver for a rich family. His boss is out of town, so he’s using the company car to pick her up.”

“Oh, that makes sense! No wonder she walked before but has a nice car now–her dad’s just using his boss‘ car.”

“Tch. I thought she was someone important. She’s just a fake!”

Katrina’s heart raced as the students sneered at Nina, but she couldn’t let anyone find out she was the only poor student in 11th grade. If that got out, the image she had worked so hard to build at school would be completely ruined.

In the reading nook down the hall, Nina was focused on her worksheets when a bottle of milk appeared in front of her.

She looked up and saw Jensen.

“Mrs. Tann asked me to give this to you.”

Jensen’s tone was calm. Nina took the milk naturally and asked, “When did she give it to you? I didn’t see anything.”

Ever since Jensen moved in with the Tanns, they’d been going to school together every morning. She clearly remembered that they’d left home at the same time–there was no way her mom had asked him to bring her milk.

She quickly realized Jensen had bought it with his own money.

Nina hadn’t eaten lunch, and her stomach was growling. She said awkwardly, “I’m on a diet. Drinking milk at noon isn’t really a good idea, is it?”

“It’s fat–free. You can drink it.”

Nina immediately poked a straw into the bottle.

The sweet, creamy taste made her sigh with satisfaction.

After weeks of dieting, her appetite had decreased greatly, so even a sip of milk felt like a treat.

Watching Nina smile happily, Jensen lifted a faint smile.

“Jensen, your grades are so good. Why are you in Class F? If you were in Class A, we could study together every break.”

Reborn again, Nina understood just how important education was.

Her biggest regret in her past life was marrying Chase right after high school and never finishing college. If she had, she never would have lost herself in that marriage.

Someone as brilliant as Jensen deserved to be in Class A with the best resources.

Jensen was quiet for a moment, then asked, “You want me in Class A?”

Nina nodded while drinking her milk. “Of course I do.”

Jensen didn’t reply.

Nina thought he didn’t want to return to Class A and face Chase, so she quickly said, “I was just saying it casually. If you don’t want to go back to Class A, then don’t…”

“I’ll try.”

Nina froze.

Jensen said softly, “I’ll try to get back into Class A.”

“Really?”

“Yeah, really.”

Before Nina could celebrate, the bell rang, ending lunch.
