“Mom… are you texting that man again?” Wilder suddenly looked up and asked softly.

Katrina panicked the second she realized her son had known about this all along. She bent down quickly. “Honey, you must never tell Daddy or anyone else about Mom chatting with him, okay?”

Though he did not fully understand why, Wilder nodded obediently. “I know. I won’t tell Dad.”

“Good boy. This is our little secret, remember?”

“Yep!”

Meanwhile over at the Tann Villa, Caleb had rushed over the moment he heard Marvin had gotten into an accident. He stepped inside only to find Marvin sitting casually on the sofa watching TV.

Caleb froze on the spot. “Mr. Tann, you’re totally fine!”

“Caleb? What brings you here?”

“I heard you got hurt in a car crash and just got out of hospital, so I brought some fresh fruits to check on you. But it’s just a few minor scratches?”

“You rascal! Are you actually hoping something bad happens to me?” Marvin glared at him playfully.

Esther looked even more confused. “I thought Nina went out to meet you today. How come you’re here all alone?”

“Huh? She came to see me?”

It took Caleb a second to catch on. He instantly figured out Nina had used him as an excuse to slip away. He scratched his head awkwardly and made up an answer right away.

“Oh right, she did come find me earlier, but then she headed out shopping with her girl friends afterward. I heard about Mr. Tann’s injury from her, so I came over alone to see how things were going.”

Esther felt even more doubtful after hearing that. Nina had never been the type to hig closely with many female friends. What was more, how could she leave her injured father behind just to go shopping? There was definitely something off about this story.

Elsewhere, Jensen had driven Nina all the way to a quiet standalone villa.

Nina stepped out of the car and glanced around. The front yard was a well-kept garden, trimmed and maintained perfectly all year round.

The place came with all kinds of complete amenities. It sat right in the city center yet stayed peaceful and quiet, with barely any passers-by coming near.

“No one has lived here much. I’ve been wanting to rent it out or put it up for sale, but most people think it’s too secluded, so I’ve never found a proper buyer or tenant.”

“Does that mean this place is practically brand new?”

“You could say that.”

“About the price you told me before… That’s definitely a special friend discount, isn’t it?”

“You want it or not?”

“Of course I do! I’ve always dreamed of owning a private place like this all to myself.”

Nina walked inside. The house was fully furnished and decorated, far from being an empty bare property.

What was more, the interior style was exactly her favorite kind.

“This is prime downtown real estate after all. Selling it to me at that price won’t leave you losing a fortune, will it?”

A high-end single-family villa in the city center easily cost over 100 million in market value. This house was not overly huge, yet it featured premium custom decor and neatly arranged front and back yards. Its actual worth was undeniably sky-high.

Yet Jensen was willing to sell it to her at 20 million. There was no way he could break even on this deal.

Jensen spoke calmly, “I run a business for a living. Do you really think I’d make a losing deal?”

‘s true.” Nina pressed on, “So are you actually taking a loss here or not?”

“That’s

“Will you ever drop this topic? If you don’t want it, I can just sell it to someone else instead.”

“No way, I definitely want it!”

A faint soft smile tugged at Jensen’s lips upon hearing her quick reply.

“I’ll transfer the full payment to you in a few days and move in soon after. Once I settle down
