Chapter 25 The Resort Invitation

In the morning, Jensen set the breakfast down in front of Nina.

Losing weight was already second nature to her now. Without a word, she began eating.

At noon, Jensen washed a plate of strawberries and set it on the table.

He said calmly, “Lunch: six strawberries.”

Nina looked at the strawberries and nodded firmly. “Got it!”

Marvin and Esther, hiding around the corner, couldn’t help but stare at Nina.

“How can she survive on just this for her diet?” Esther shook her head helplessly.

Marvin sighed, “Not a single bit of meat, that’s for sure.”

In the evening, Jensen tied an apron around his waist and studied recipes in the kitchen.

Nina, upstairs, followed the smell and wandered into the kitchen. She was starving. “Jensen, what’s for dinner?”

“Pan–seared chicken breast.”

At the mention of meat, Nina’s eyes lit up instantly.

Meat! There’s meat!

Seeing her swallow hard, a faint smile spread across Jensen’s face.

By August, summer break was drawing to an end.

One day, the class group chat suddenly blew up. Nina saw that Katrina was enthusiastically inviting everyone to a mountain resort to escape the heat.

Everyone got excited at the idea of going to a resort.

When Nina saw the message, a slight smile curved on her lips.

It seemed Katrina was worried that her father’s visit to school had made her classmates suspicious of her identity, so she was looking for a chance to prove she was the Sawyer heiress.

Katrina had chosen her words carefully too–she only invited everyone to the resort without saying it belonged to her family, avoiding trouble later on.
