Chapter 62 Mrs Mercer Invited Me
“Katrina, what brings you here today?”
“Yeah, you’ve been in Class C for days now. How’s it been?”
Tara and the others were eager to hear how she’d been doing.
Katrina didn’t want to talk about it.
Ever since leaving Class A, every moment in Class C had felt unbearable.

Still, in front of her former classmates, she kept a smile on her face. “We can talk about that later. I actually came to give you these.”
She took out five invitations and handed them to the five girls she was closest to.
When Tara saw that they were invitations to The Grand Sovereign, her eyes
widened.
“Katrina, this is The Grand Sovereign! I’ve heard booking a dinner there costs six figures!”
“As expected of Chase, the Mercer family really goes all out. I have no idea where those rumors about them going bankrupt came from.”
“Exactly. A six–figure banquet in one night–who else but the Mercers could afford that?”
“Even the invitations look so high–end. Katrina, I’m so jealous!”
Everyone stared enviously at the invitations in her hand.
“Chase gave these to me,” Katrina said. “Mrs. Mercer invited me to his coming–of–age party and asked me to bring a few close friends.”
“So his mom approves of you now?”
“Of course! Katrina’s from the Sawyer family–they’re a perfect match. How could Mrs. Mercer not agree?”
“Katrina, when you become the Lady of the Mercer family, don’t forget about us.”
Listening to the flattery around her, Katrina’s cheeks flushed. “How could I forget you? You’re my best friends.”
As she spoke, Katrina glanced toward the front row, where Nina was working through a set of

problems. She walked over and said, “Nina, do you want to come to Chase’s birthday party? I can ask Mrs. Mercer for another invitation.”
Tara let out a cold laugh. “Katrina, forget it. She’ll just stir things up again and cling to Chase.”
“Exactly. Did you forget she was the one who ratted you out when you and Chase started dating?”
“Katrina’s just too nice. Yesterday, Nina even tried to use Mrs. Mercer’s favor to force Chase into marrying her.”
“Right–and how would a driver’s daughter from the Mercer family even get into a place like that?”
They all looked at Nina with open disdain, clearly convinced she was the Mercer family driver’s daughter.
Nina suddenly smiled. “You really think I’m the driver’s daughter?”
Tara scoffed. “Aren’t you? We all know. You’ve been shamelessly chasing Chase just because you grew up together. If you weren’t the driver’s daughter, how else would you be getting picked up in luxury cars every day and winning over Mrs. Mercer?”
“Katrina, whether she’s a driver’s daughter doesn’t matter,” someone added. “What matters is she’s known Chase since they were kids.”
Katrina stepped forward, all warmth and composure. “Nina, why don’t we put the past behind us and go to Chase’s birthday party together? Chances are, you won’t get many opportunities to attend something at The Grand Sovereign in the future.”
There was a flicker of challenge in her eyes as she spoke.
Nina caught it and simply smiled. “Thanks, but I’ll pass.”
“That’s too bad. I was even going to ask Mrs. Mercer for another invitation if you wanted one.”
