“I spoke to my dad last night. Just send people to handle it. Follow the proper procedures, and make sure the auction doesn’t go below two hundred million.”
“Understood, Ms. Tann.”
Nina hung up.
With that, the Mercers had lost their last way out.
Now she wanted to see how Chase would keep living so lavishly.
The next day, people from the court showed up at the Mercer house and knocked on the door. When Cecilia didn’t answer for a long time, Markus gave the order to force it open.
Upstairs, Cecilia was leisurely putting on her makeup. When she heard people coming in, her face went pale. “W–what are you doing? This is my house! Who let you in?!”
Before she could finish, the court officers had already begun seizing everything inside.
“What are you doing?!” she cried, rushing forward to stop them.
At that moment, Markus pulled out the court notice. “The Mercer family has failed to repay the debt on time. Under the terms of the contract, we are seizing the Mercer residence, vehicles, and all listed collateral. The property will be auctioned here at noon tomorrow.”
“What did you say? Auction? How can you auction my house? This is my home!” Cecilia panicked at the news.
Standing off to the side, Preston spoke calmly. “Mrs. Mercer, we came here six times before to negotiate, but you refused to meet with us. We had no choice but to proceed with enforcement. Since the Mercer family cannot repay the debt, everything under your name will be auctioned as collateral. The proceeds will go toward settling your debt to the Tann family.”
“You-!”
Cecilia felt a tightness in her chest, struggling to catch her breath.
The Tann family… they’d really gone this far.
At school, Hunter from Class C crept up to the doorway of Class A, peering inside like he had a

secret to share.
Charlotte looked puzzled. “Hunter? Who are you looking for?”
“Nina! Where’s Nina?”
“She probably went to the restroom. Over there.” Charlotte pointed toward the girls‘ restroom on the left.
Hunter immediately dashed off.
“Hey! That’s the girls‘ restroom-!”
Before Charlotte could finish, Hunter had already stopped at the entrance. A few girls came out, startled to see him standing there, and gave him strange looks as they passed.
Hunter felt a bit awkward himself, but he stayed put, pretending nothing was wrong as he casually whistled.
Nina soon came out of the girls‘ restroom, looking puzzled. “Hunter? What are you doing standing out here?”
“I’ve got something good to show you!” he said, grabbing her arm and pulling her aside. He took a stack of photos out of his pocket. “Here–everything you asked for. I got them all developed.”
Nina flipped through them–and froze.
There were shots of Katrina and Chase kissing on the field, others of the two of them going into the girls‘ restroom one after the other, and more from the library, the music room, the lab… from every possible angle. It was a full collection of their secret moments.
She stared, stunned.
How on earth had he managed to get these angles?
“Well? Pretty impressive, right?” Hunter grinned, clearly proud of himself.
“Seriously impressive,” Nina said honestly. “Forget becoming an educator–you should be a paparazzo.”
“An educator? Why would I do that? If anything, I’d be an athlete,” Hunter said, giving her a confused look.
Nina barely looked up, still focused on the photos. “You wouldn’t get it. You’ll understand when
