Chapter 14
Evelyn and Caden immediately rushed over.
But the man shook his head. “I’m sorry, he was wearing a mask and a hat. The cameras didn’t catch
his face.”
The other three also shook their heads, indicating they had no leads either.
Evelyn’s face hardened. “Send me all the footage where he appears.”
On the way home, Evelyn sent the footage to Felicity.
“Dig into this man for me.”
“What happened?” Felicity’s voice carried an edge of concern.
Evelyn recounted the events of the evening, her forehead furrowed. “If Caden hadn’t shown up in time, I might have been killed.”
Felicity’s voice grew serious. “Leave it to me. I’ll unmask this bastard.”
Meanwhile, Natalia hurled her phone onto the sofa after Dante ignored her twelfth call.
Suddenly, her phone rang.
When it rang moments later, she snatched it up-only to scowl at Rowan’s name.
“What do you mean someone saved her? Who was it?!”
As Rowan explained the events of the evening, Natalia’s fingers dug into her palm, her eyes filled
with jealousy.
Why does Evelyn always land on her feet?
On the other end, Rowan sat in his car, his dark eyes full of malice.
“She’ll be on high alert now. Making another move won’t be easy.”
“Lay low until the right moment,” Natalia hissed before hanging up on his lovestruck ramblings:
“I’ll take care of her. Don’t worry. Just stay at home and wait for me to return…”
A week later, Evelyn began taking over the operations of the Soulstone pack.
Rosalie and Silas carefully moderated her workload, aware of her inexperience with Alpha duties after years as a Luna.

As the Luna of Dante’s pack, Evelyn had never handled Alpha duties before, so at first, she found
herself a bit lost.
However, since Caden had discovered they were mates, he hadn’t pressured her into starting a new relationship. Instead, he would occasionally visit the pack to watch her training, sometimes even shifting into wolf form and running through the forests and fields with her.
Thanks to Caden’s presence, Evelyn’s stress eased significantly, and she began to get the hang of
the pack’s various affairs.
With Caden’s support, this past week had been relatively smooth for Evelyn.
But Rowan, on the other hand, could no longer wait.
Evelyn’s routine life left no openings for another attack.
One day, after finishing a meeting, Evelyn suddenly received a call from Felicity.
