The Rejected Luna (Avery and Kaden) novel Chapter 52

**Chapter 5**

The instant Miles and Sierra stormed into the clinic, Hannah recoiled, hiding behind Blake like a timid rabbit cornered by a predator. But Sierra, fueled by rage, was quicker—her claws unsheathed and ready as she clutched Hannah’s meticulously styled hair, yanking her forward with unrestrained fury.

“You vile, scheming bitch!” Sierra spat, her voice dripping with venom. “How dare you cower in the shadows? Do you even comprehend how old my nieces were? Five years old! What sin did they commit that made you unable to bear their very existence? Are you even capable of feeling human emotions?!”

Hannah let out a shriek as she crumpled to the floor, but Blake was immediately at her side, positioning himself as a protective barrier against his sister’s wrath. His glare was fierce, a storm of emotions swirling within him.

“Have you completely lost your mind?” he barked, desperation lacing his tone. “She’s carrying my child! If anything happens to that baby—”

“Your child?” Sierra’s voice cracked, the hysteria bubbling beneath the surface. “What about the children you already had? The ones you sent to their graves?!” Her words sliced through the air like a dagger, and Blake’s jaw clenched tightly, the tension palpable.

“Listen to me, Sierra,” he said, trying to maintain his composure. “On that fateful day, I simply brought Hannah home. The girls screamed at her to leave. Is that how pups should speak to their elders? I’m their father! If I decide they need discipline at The Obedience Den, that’s my prerogative!”

He scoffed, raking a hand through his disheveled hair, frustration bubbling over. “Fine! If you’re all so distraught, I’ll bring them back! But stop this ridiculous charade about them being dead. Lena’s lies don’t fool me—”

Before he could finish, Miles’s fist connected with Blake’s face, sending him crashing against the wall.

“ELDERS? SHE’S A MATE-SNATCHING WHORE!” Miles roared, spittle flying from his lips as he unleashed a barrage of blows upon his grandson. “Those girls were protecting their mother! They were your heirs! Your blood!”

Blake felt the weight of each strike but didn’t fight back; he couldn’t, not against the Alpha who had raised him. He barely managed to evade the next swing, his heart pounding in his chest.

“Enough! We’re in public—”

“You think I care about your pride right now?” Miles’s voice trembled, a mixture of anger and sorrow. “If I had known you’d turn into this heartless monster, I would never have bound Lena to you. She has suffered for years because of my error. And now those innocent pups are gone!” Tears streamed down Miles’s weathered face, etching paths through the lines of age.

“How could I let this nightmare unfold for her? I promised her grandfather I would treat her as my own blood. He entrusted me with his only granddaughter! And now you have destroyed everything she held dear.”

The image of Lena kneeling before him earlier flickered in his mind—her delicate frame trembling, clutching that tattered teddy bear, her voice steady despite the devastation etched in her eyes.

Maybe it’s better this way. At least she’s free now.

With a final, disgusted glance at Blake, Miles turned away, his heart heavy with anguish.

“Don’t return to the Pack House. You’re no longer welcome among us.”

Blake’s breath came in ragged gasps, a whirlwind of desperation swirling within him. He turned to Sierra, pleading, “Tell me the truth. This is a trick, isn’t it? You’re all punishing me—”
