Liora’s POV
Combat class was uneventful. Sort of. For me, at least—because for once, the focus was entirely on someone else.
The pictures were caught in the midst of a heated debate; some people said that it wasn’t Bianca at all, that it was just someone with a passing resemblance to her and that Bianca would never cheat on Callum.
The other half of the class thought that the pictures were real. That Bianca had cheated on Callum with some strange guy at a motel, and now she was facing the consequences.
Those students didn’t realize just how right they were. But I never intended for this to happen; when I’d given the pictures to Zane, he had promised—promised—that he would speak to Callum privately.
But he had broken his promise, and I could decide which hurt more: the fact that he had, or knowing that Callum now thought that I had been the one to do it out of… what? Spite? Pettiness?
He’d accused me of trying to sabotage his relationship already when I tried to privately show him the pictures; now, he would certainly think that I was out to get him.
After class, I quickly made my way to the locker rooms to shower and change. It was blissfully empty when I entered, and I turned the hot water up as high as it would go, then stripped off my clothes and stepped beneath the hot spray.
As the warm water cascaded over my head, I shut my eyes and pondered what to do next; whether to talk to Callum privately, confront Zane, or hide in the shower until my skin fell off my bones.
The universe seemed to make the decision for me. I had only just turned the water off and was wrapping a towel around myself when I heard the locker room door open. A few moments later, three figures emerged from the steam.
“Well, well. Just who I was looking for.” Bianca folded her arms across her chest, methodically tapping her perfectly manicured nails on her arms. I didn’t have a chance to speak before she snapped her fingers, and her two cohorts surged forward and suddenly pinned me against the cold tile wall by my arms.
“Hey—What are you—”
“You think you can follow me around? Hitch a ride in the back of my car like some kind of freak?” Bianca strode forward slowly, heels clicking against the tiles. “As if that’s not bad enough, you then release pictures of my private life to the entire school?”
